Watching Westwood limply give the ball away and then just fucking stand there arms open for their second makes me want to push him off a fucking bridge.

What a fucking shit house of a footballer he is

Real fanny of a player.

Can't tackle.
Can't create.
Can't pass further than 10 yards.
Doesn't shoot.
Doesn't score.
Isn't good in the air.
Doesn't have pace.
Doesn't have strength.
Isn't vocal.
Doesn't work hard.
Doesn't track back.
Must make a good cup of tea or give a cracking blow job.

One of the worst players I've seen at this club in 30 years of watching us. The ultimate footballer who does nothing but get's millions.

I said last week Westwood was the Bartleby of our midfield. That hands-in-the-air non-challenge confirms his "I'd prefer not to" approach to the game.

In years to come, when we look back at this dark, dismal slump in our history, Westwood will be remembered as the focal point of our fecklessness.

I have friends with more footballing talent in their little toes than Westwood will have in a million years of blowing aimlessly around the park like a leaf, pointing and throwing his hands in the air. They didn't make it, but this useless wanker did.

He's a millionaire, and he is such a stranger to the actual football it defies all comprehension that he can stink out our first XI on such a regular basis. It twists my melon and it really boils my bile.

The first thing our new manager should do is start calling non-league clubs to see if any of them will be desperate enough to take this pathetic waste of molecules off our hands.

We've had worse players than Westwood.  Far worse even in the time I can recall (mid 80's onwards).  And my father could reel off a whole host of names from the 60s and 70s all fetid in their own special way.

But none will have played as many games for the club has Westwood has.  They have normally got away with it for a season>season and a half tops. Then been benched or phucked out of it altogether.

Barring a miracle, we won't be getting shot of him until summer 2017 at the earliest- even if the next manager wises up and banishes him. So that will be half a decade where he has been able to steal a living. Not just on the books, but being as close to a guaranteed starter as it is possible to be.  It's fucking shocking.

Does he have secret files on every manager he's played for? Something has to explain the fact that even Stevie Wonder could see the guy's totally inept. Whoever takes charge will loose all credibility if his name ever appears again on a line up announcement

Nothing against Westwood as a person obviously, it's not his fault successive managers keep picking him. Sad that there's no one better to take his place which is a terrible reflection on the last 5 years and the youth policy. Whoever comes in next has to play Jedinak in front of the back 4 and tell him to face the right way ! Then have Tish and Gardner or Lyden just in front. Oh and Baker with Chester behind. Bacuna and Amavi full backs. The front 3 to be rotated from the cast of thousands.

In the summer there was talk of Burnley wanting him and 6m being floated.

Not sure how credible that was but imagine if we turned it down...as we've seen RDM obviously rates him given his frequent starts.

I was fairly confident after Barnsley but the manager soon dented that with his selection which was witless and bewildering, further compounded by the half time changes which were the mark of a man all at sea with his thinking.

There is a terrible air of back to square one and you could feel it in the away end. So many, like myself have come back to the Villa since relegation in terms of going to games, but we stood there in shock at what unfolded. I've been away and seen us lose countless times but have still had a decent day out. That didn't happen on Saturday, it was impossible to shake the doom from our shoulders.

It will be an interesting two weeks.

Like one of Westwood's floaty corners, it came to nought.

We have players who want to make careers in the game

Said Simon Grayson after the game.

Is that one of our problems? When we sign players they seem to think they've made it, the work ethic and desire isn't there. They either think they've made it, joining us with all the money we pay too or we sign players who aren't hungry?

I don't know, I know the managers have been shit, every one of them the last few years but there's got to be more to it than just having picked a few turds that aren't quite up to it, they've had a little success elsewhere but abject failure here.

Is it really the size of the club and they aren't prepared for it with their limited experience?

There is something in that I believe, some players grt to Villa and think they have made the big time, the ground the history and the support. You get the exeptions like Benteke who had his eyes on the top sides and others who realised they could do better. We have had top players who have left as soon as they realised we were going nowhere, but for the most we have got players with little ambition.

It's been a feature of all the games I've seen so far this season - possibly with the exception of Barcodes - that each has had energy, drive and commitment; each has tried to 'get into our faces' and the refereeing has been more tolerant of niggle fouls and intimidation than in the Prem.
And, we've been bamboozled by it, even those players used to the second tier. Which points to poor management and prep.

I'm not sure I've witnessed as crap an away atmosphere as that.  Going behind so early clearly didn't help and a few behind us spent most of the first half arguing about whether you should support the team/club regardless of what's going on on the the pitch or whether you are fully entitled to rant at the players/manager as you've paid your money.  It didn't come to blows but I'm sure if a 3rd goal for them had gone in it might have.  I'm not sure what the answer is but I don't think a Villa fan calling another Villa fan a "shit Villa fan" is.  There is a real tense atmosphere at the moment even when we're 1 up as felt in the Brentford game second half that seems to transcend on to the pitch which unfortunately started after 4 minutes on Saturday.  Maybe it can be broken by a new manager that starts with a couple of wins but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes you should always support the team.  But the away fans more than did their bit Saturday IMO.  I guess with us going behind so early and playing so awfully it was always going to die down, but don't think you can ask too much more of them considering.

Totally agree. Both goals were an absolute joke, the formation at the start was terrible and the subs made absolutely zero sense. The fact that we had 5 "goal scorers" on the pitch and none of them scored or even created a chance that seemed like it could roll over the line is extremely telling of RDM. You can't just throw them on, sacrifice the entire balance of the squad, and expect goals to magically appear.

I'm really disappointed in him. No consistency, no actual strategy, no fire, no reaction.. looking back his temperament is not what we need at the moment.

I agree they did their bit and I have nothing but admiration for our away support but the argument started after probably the third bout of Keystone Cop defending in the first 15 minutes or so.  One guy gave the defence a round of fucks and was told to just support the team.  If he was a fan who'd been to every away game since the last away win against Bournemouth then I think he's got every right to be pissed off.  That's why I said I don't know the answer, they both have a point (apart from calling him a shit Villa fan).  It's like a never ending circle of shitness, team plays badly, fans get pissed off, atmosphere gets worse, team plays worse, etc.  Obviously last year we expected to lose so the atmosphere was good because most people treated it as a day out.  This year it's still a day out but we've got every right to expect to win a few games and the atmosphere obviously got worse because it was clear from early on it wasn't going to happen.
