Just reading the comments on the Newcastle Chronicle and apparently we are the ones that are obsessed about them...very odd set of supporter's.

Seven years on and they still can't grasp that it wasn't just us that would have behaved as we did. In their world everyone is jealous of them.

The fall of that knob Tony Blair, their cringy celeb supporter, is probably an apt metaphor for the way their stock has fallen since 1997.  Like Blair, they also still think they're relevant.

Maybe we should make a public apology before kick off tomorrow, I genuinly think they would have a mass breakdown of tears, the make up sex would be pretty intense!

I remember before the first relegation game there was a "Good luck Villa" type Facebook page. Probably set up by a Mackem but there were so many posts on it from fans of other clubs wanting us to send them down.

I like this idea, Leighton could appear on the scoreboard like Delph did to make the official apology.

A heavy 'QPR style' defeat and the angst starts in earnest.

Familiar territory.

You mean a 6-0 defeat would be familiar territory for this season? I'm far from impressed to say the least with how we've started, but at home we've not looked like losing and indeed we haven't. They've actually lost more games than us too.

We may get beat, but 6-0? Come on.

Of course not.

But 0-4 is a possibility.

Is McCormack fit for this game?

It's their lack of sense of humour around all this that gets me. I think the "everybody's second favourite team" badge also would a lot of people up.

It must really grate that everyone's second favourite team is now Leicester.

Again, totally unfamiliar.

I'm yet to meet another Villa supporter who gives a flying fuck about Newcastle United, this thing about a rivalry is utter garbage.

More than anything, I have a slow burning optimism for this game.  We need to turn our missed and half chances into goals, and really need a game that will galvanise the team.

If we get a result today, this could be the opposite of the Leicester game last season for being a defining point.

3-1 Villa
