Another let off. That last 10 minutes sounded really poor. They've had enough games like this now, they need to show some fucking killer instinct. I'm expecting much more drive in the second half.

Stats suggest this is our closest game so far don't they?

Crap defending. Need more goals, we'll concede.

Get an extra midfielder on and get a foot on the ball, even if it is Gardner, bring Ayew off and put Ross in behind Gestede and JK.

Good team Brentford so I expect them to have opportunities but hoping the pace and power we have up top will see us through with a second and possibly a third.

The leaders in the team need to get the rest of the lads organised and pushing 10 yards up the pitch.

Ayew needs a goal. I hope he gets on the score sheet tonight.

Bar the scoreline it doesn't sound good at all. Does RDM have it in him to make the necessary call and bring Amavi on for one of the four forwards?

Really need a good second half performance. There must be a lot of nerves tho given recent events

It's hard to feel confident isn't it? I'm almost resigned to an equaliser already

At least the opposition haven't capitalised on their chances - unlike Sunday

On the plus side, we're winning even though we're not playing especially well. On the minus side, we're not playing especially well even though we're winning.

Brentford are a good side, so we really need to up our game or it could be yet another game we fail to win after going in front.

Let the de-villa-fication of Villa begin today - come out 2nd half like a train and blast 2 or 3 more goals, with the defence not making any stupid errors and keeping a comfortable clean sheet.

It's not going to happen, is it?  Brentford will score within 5mins of the restart.  They will push us back for the entire 2nd half and we won't be able to string two passes together and we will lose to a late goal from a defensive howler.
