Nicky Keye. Great to see she survived the Krulak meltdown.
Disappointing to read that the relationship with Acorns had gone ''stale''. Surely one of the achievements of the Lerner regime was the consistent support from the club towards the charity? Lescott's involvement last year was one of his saving graces. Not sure how much more the club can do, there's lots of other charities that would appreciate any support from Villa.
Thanks for the info, Dave. Some real useful pointers and information contained.I genuinely, and no idea if this has any practical economic grounds, would love Villa Park to be the focal point of a regeneration project in the area.Onwards.
The thing with Acorns - and this is just guesswork - might be that we'd reached market saturation, or whatever the term is. Our supporters' contribution had hit all it ever would and the publicity they gained was, in effect, yesterday's news. That's just my take on it and I could be wrong.
I especially like the bit about the "Villa engine" and our own style of football that becomes a constant regardless of manager (unless they have Pulisball in mind). Swansea and Southampton are fairly good models in that respect. I know that to a lot us it seems an obvious strategy and common sense, but it is amazing how many club owners and board members can't seem to grasp it - including our previous regimes. So fair play to our lot for at least not being as daft.
