which was ok when he was scoring for fun. But the jokes on us when he doesn't score at all. Needs binning.

This is harsh. We’re two games into the new season. Let’s give him 10 games at least first.

That's right, yes.  As long as we then bin him.

Sadly I agree. The old Kodjia would have scored twice yesterday.

Kodjia is lazy, selfish and useless at holding the ball up. His attempt at jumping every time the goalkeeper or anyone passes it long to him is comical. He's been poor for months on end and needs a good kick up the arse.

What is the point of bringing up quotes from weeks ago that were accurate at the time? If he has a shit game shall we remind you of it? Just enjoy that he played really well for the first time in 18 months.

He was excellent tonight. Three in two. He's back.

I don't think it was the 'he's playing crap' quotes, it's most likely the 'he needs binning' ones. People were writing him off two games into the season.

Shall we quote everyone that is currently raving about McGinn if he has one shit game because as it stands Kod has had 1 good game in 18 months? I, and i'd imagine everyone else, is delighted with him tonight and hope it continues. Seems strange that instead of praising his performance that someone's first thought is to dig up quotes. Personally i'd rather enjoy that Kod looked good again.

I'd agree with that. I hoped the player he was would com back with a few games and goals under his belt and tonight was very promising (as well as the 2 goals there was an excellent turn and shot just before his first and his positioning to get on the one he hit straight at the keeper was very good, 2 weeks ago he'd have been coming to the front post for that.  I think he'll score a bucketload this season, he's never played with Jack whilst fully fit and with McGinn and the new wingers we've now got plenty of pace to support him which will create space.

If Kod does get firing again on a regular we become a totally different beast, especially if we continue playing like we did tonight.

He needs a goal.
It’s as simple as that.
I’m not claiming any credit but.........

Play with the same intent as tonight but work on adding some quality (which may happen with the 2 new guys) and a bit more familiarity (which means training them on attacking shape, something I've seen little evidence of since Bruce arrived) and we should be creating more chances for him as well.  Our front 4 (whoever is involved match-by-match) should have easily enough about them to score 50+ between them, add in players like Chester and Hourihane popping up with a decent number of goals and something around 2 a game shouldn't be a massive stretch.  Get the defence functioning behind that and we'll be there.

I said a week or so back that we just needed to give him a run of games and once he got one he'd be better for it, today he's been a lot better than we were seeing, this is a 20+ a season striker now.

Yes you did and I was in full agreement. He was very much bit-part for the last stretch of games last season so it was only this month onwards that it was really fair to judge him and he's now coming good, we've just had to show a little patience.
