The midfield looks fucking awful
Upfront looks decent but I second your thoughts to the 3 in the middle.

Yeah looks a very strong forward line up, but they might not get in the game with that midfield
True, how long will Gary Gardner get until we say ta-ra mate. Feels like a decade and still haven't seen him do anything ... same for Westwood too.

Bacuna all be it the arse-hole he is does pop up with the odd good cross or shot.

Not sure if Gardner has ever played a dozen consecutive games for us to judge him effectively.

Ah sweet Jesus, I want to be positive but that midfield?  Christ, I don't know much about Wednesday's midfield but they won't have to be very good to be better than that.  Westwood?  FFS.
Watch Bannan run the show.

I wonder why he hasn't!

No sign of the Gabster then?

The midfield is a bit scary but let see how this pans out.
I would like to have seen Tish start but he'll get on at some time I'm sure.

Ayew playing wide I suspect?
Maybe we'll see an new improved Gestede now he's playing alongside a proper striker.

I'm quite optimistic...it feels strange.

I have driven up to Laroque des Albères, 20 minutes from ours. There is a bar called Café des Artistes which is run by an Irish bloke and has Sky. Given that there is no egg-chasing on today, I thought I was guaranteed first dibs on Sky Sports 1.

Oh no, the place is full of Irish lads watching the feckin' hurling final FFS!

That is unacceptable

Hmm. A drab(borderline shit) midfield. Westwood and Bacuna? Why? Gardner just isn't very good.

Not happy with that at all. Hutton, Baker, Cissohko, Bacuna, Westwood, Gestede, Gardner. None of them should be anywhere near the squad. Let alone the pitch. Crap.

Grealish should be starting. As should Tshibola. If it all goes wrong, Di Matteo has made a rod for his own back.

Anyway, prove me wrong. My fiance has just urged me to get behind them, bless her. And she's right. So I will.

Come on boys.

Important news from France: Fearghal has a second screen and may be able to put the Villa on concomitantly with the Oirish hockey.

Could be argued the 3 defenders on the bench are a lot better than 3 of those starting so hopefully we will see them soon.
