One story about that era was the villa skin girls - how many  times have I been told  that they would have mullered me.

Turning back to us and the bloooose - my fav derby was the one the day after Sid V  had  been arrested  for the murder of nancy - the Kop had  a  banner Sid was innocent, one of the paratroopers got caught in his shoot, a letter in the programme was sent in by a loon who was in prison and Gray scored the winner.

Was reading that and thought 'Sid was arrested?!?!', then realised you meant Sid Vicious, rather than our Gordon....

I remember this game well.
It wasn't on TV of course it was just a friendly match which attracted a crowd of 36,771 as Willie Anderson scored two with Bob Latchford replying for Blose.
Villa's new captain for the season was Harry Gregroy, who passed away recently, and he was excellent in midfield for Villa.
I have an old Evening Mail report showing Willie wheeling away in triumph afterscoring the winner.
We were in our second season of playing in the third division, they were in the second.
