Alternatively he'll be reinvigorated with impressing a new manager who might give him another chance.

That's very true Eamonn and I'd thought of it but, given the way his time with us has gone I'd be of the opinion that a clean break away would be beneficial for him and, he thinking he'd got it for a season at least, might leave him feeling pissed off.

There may not be a recall clause in his loan contract BUT even if there is players can only be recalled in the next transfer window I believe, so not till January in any case. As I understand it anyway

Can be recalled in January according to Adkins.

Very well by all accounts. Hull fans seem to love him.

I'd be trying to sell him then really and putting the money towards a possible replacement(s).

He played well for Bournemouth in a team that played football more akin to Dean Smiths style than Steve Bruce's. Maybe he is worth a shot in Jan.

The much maligned and not really given a chance here.
Typical of Steve Bruce management.
Don’t get on with a player, throw th3m under a bus and try and buy a replacement or not in this case.

He's yet another player who seems to do well everywhere but at the Villa.  Given how many of those we've had over the past decade, it can't be down to bad luck.

Like with right-backs, we have a surplus of right- sided central defenders.  How did Bruce leave us so unbalanced.

I'm not making any excuses for Bruce by any means but Elphick has been nothing short of appalling when on the field in a Villa shirt. His first spell earned him the "Bombscare" nickname and when he was bought back into the fold at the start of this season he was no better.
I'm certainly in agreement that he could flourish at another club but he's had his chances with us as far as I am concerned.

Agreed, Nev. My complaint is not so much that he's been sent out on loan, more that he's not been permanently replaced during the last three windows.

I saw the hull game last weekend and he looked good. Composed on the ball and did well in the air. Feels like he gets stage fright at the villa

He had some off field personal problems which were not widely reported.
Just amazing that someone that has played well at this level can be written off.
It makes no sense from a management or commercial perspective.
