I missed the pre-match build up on Saturday. Did Elphick do his routine like he used to do at Bournemouth?
Do you mean at the home end goal post?
If you do then yes

I'd love to know what he's muttering to himself too.

I was very near him at Sheffield Wednesday watching his routine.  Trying to lip read him I'm sure he was muttering a prayer. He also looks up the heavens at the end?

I'd love to know what he's muttering to himself too.

At Derby, from the TV images he appeared to be saying:

"Richards? WTF is he doing on the bench?"

"If Bacuna gets injured or pushed up to midfield you bring on Hutton."

"If Chester gets injured, you bring on Baker."

If I get injured, you move Chester over to the right and bring on Baker."

So Roberto under what fcuking circumstances would you ever bring on that waster,Richards?"

The man has a point.

My wife has done a course in lip reading, and confirm that he also says:

"and if anything happens to one of the forwards, don't, under any circumstances, bring on Kozak.  He's got all the athleticism of Thora Hird."

*Eastenders music*

He's a bit 'Championship' sometimes. I'm hoping for better chemistry and understanding across our defence, if not the whole side.

He's solid in the air, we rarely look like conceding from headers now and corners which is at least a plus.

Can see why Bournmouth thought he wouldn't cut it in the prem, any sort of pace or a quick striker running at him and he can't handle it, Hogan left him for dead in the first half.

Very average, lacks pace and doesn't shut space down.

I think any criticism of our defence needs to be weighed against the fact that we barely have a midfield, and haven't had for years. You could put Baresi, Cannavaro, God and Cafu in our back four and they'd concede goals because of the total lack of protection they get. It's the midfield. It's always the midfield.

Reminds me of Steve Sims. Adequate is the correct word.
