I think he's the right choice for skipper and his press conference for todays game fills me with confidence.

RDM seems to be making some very good choices.

He's already shown a bit of guts.  Migt be our best signing so far this summer.

Looks good. Someone who leads by example. I also have to say that Baker has looked good too and is the sort of CH (in terms of build) who will do well in this division. His time at Bristol will have helped him too (but he has to stay fit). Elphick will be good for Baker I feel. We definitely need a new right back, and Amavi back fit ASAP.

Was very good today, was unlucky even for the goal, he got his head to the clearance, it hit one of their players and then deflects off Tommy and fell nicely for Forestieri. On another day either of those deflections falls in our favour.

The one tackle in particular was class. Reminded me a little of Martin Laursen in the way that he led.

I think he was very good and will be a key player as this team develops. Needs better players in all the other three defensive positions though.

True, he was doing his best to organise them all through the game to be fair to him.

Thought he was very good, and he and Baker actually looked fairly solid for most of the game.  Get Amavi in and the back line will be fine.

He's a loon. Chatting away and headbutting the goal post before the game.

Good performance I felt. Good decision maker.

You're right Risso about Baker, thought he looked comfortable too.

What we massively missed last season (and in precious years as well though not to the same degree) has been an organiser.

He might have played on with a bashed head but I was most impressed by his organising. Telling the others to step up and where to hold the line. Not being afraid to give a nudge to someone where necessary. Putting his arm round the keeper at the end.

A proper captain for the first time in a long time. He needs a midfield equivalent if we are to go up. Players who set the standard are critical if we are to go back up first time.

Nice to see people praising Baker - thought he had a very steady game.

Elphick looks a good buy at this level. Get another like him in Midfield.
