Which towel was that that Garde threw in?  The one the board handed him to wipe off the shit they piled on him?

The one where he was on a multi-million pound contract. The very same one where he had the choice to resign from if he felt so compelled but chose to act unprofessionally and mope around the place while showing no enthusiasm.

Yet you don't seem to think that Black is acting unprofessionally by moping around the place  while showing no enthusiasm?

He didn't ask about Black but Garde. Why should I mention him in a reply about Remi Garde?

You shouldn't. I'm talking about other recent posts where you have been rather more supportive of Black's dopey moodiness while having more of a problem with Garde's.

Black wasn't employed to manage Villa and isn't on as much money as Garde was to manage Villa. Garde's demeanour changed after the transfer window which to me was unforgivable and then came out with stuff such as players not being bothered in training. That set the tone for what became 12 defeats on the bounce as the dressing room are not going to run through the proverbial brick wall for a manager that is publicly airing his dirty linen. However true it may have been.

The difference for me with Black is that he didn't apply for the job but has taken it on. He probably has been told to try and steer the ship until the end of the season and will obviously also have first hand knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes. Okore, Veretout, Gabby etc etc He may not be great at his job but its the job he's been asked to do to fill in and not the job he is qualified, nor employed to do. Why we should be on a downer with him because of that I'm not sure. His quip about not accepting the job was a quip and nothing more than that but the current mood amongst the fans is that everyone or anyone is a wanker if you upset us right now.

Black is trying his best, which clearly isn't good enough, but is working within an exceptionally bad environment, with fans pouncing on anything, and with exceptionally mediocre players. Garde helped create that and Black is working within it. That's why I'm more supportive of Black and less supportive of Garde.

If doing your best includes selecting Kieran Richardson then you're either exceedingly crap, incredbly stupid or just being a dick.

Ditto Bacuna and Westwood - it doesn't matter who the manager is, they all select the same old dross

Garde was shite, I was pro him but there's no denying he had zero enthusiasm for the job from February onwards and just added to the negative atmosphere. He had no fight in him for the club, it was pretty clear the job was not his cup of tea and he wanted out asap.

How many games was he selected for? What were the circumstances? Why get hot under the collar when it's someone not suited to being a manager being asked to just get us to the end of the season?

I think he would still be picking him if he wasn't out injured. Why he brought him back in from the cold is anyone's guess, it was pointless.

We don't see what goes on in training. We don't see who is carrying a knock. We don't what the circumstances are that led to Richardson playing. It may have been gut instinct it may have been through many different scenarios to which we are not party. Whichever it is, including that Black may be clueless, is neither here nor there. MacDonald has shown he's not very good doing it, Sid probably didn't want it so its fAllen onto Black. Yes he's been poor - although I do think it's slightly improving - but he's on a hiding to nothing considering he's doing a job he probably didn't want and a job that no-one else seemed to want to do either.

The only valid reason for picking Richardson would be if 25 members of the playing squad had food poisoning and the youth team went on strike. Terrible player.

I agree. Also it's the general theme of the team that Black sends out, it is undeniably negative and that doesn't send the right message.

I would like to complain in the strongest terms about Lerner not being an option. It's completely unfair and it's put me in a right grumpy mood. It's just prejudiced against those who want to have Lerner as their option and I can't believe how unfair it is. It's so unfair I said unfair several times.

He had something most managers don't get -a free hit of 10-12 games where the results really weren't that important.

Yet rather than sending the players out with positive instructions, it has been dour, defensive McLeish and Lambert-style boreball, with the same idiot faces in circulation.

What was he protecting?

If nothing else, he should have been looking to make an impression for future jobs.
