I'm in Tywyn until Sunday, so if tomorrow (sorry, later today) is when it's finally confirmed, I'll only have my two ornament cats to share it with.  My real cat, Beautie, will probably be relieved when it is all over - he's 5 in a couple of weeks, and all his life he's had to listen to me complaining about the Villa !

I never for a moment thought I'd live to see relegation from the top table for a third time, I only went to one game in 66-67 - can anyone say when it actually was confirmed then - I know in the two down - two up days as it was then, we finished 21st out 22 and ironically the one game I went to that year (which was my first visit) was a 3-2 win against Blackpool, who finished bottom.

I remember feeling "hollow" when we lost to Sheffield Wed in 1987, was on the Holte End - but if I remember correctly we only had one more game at Man. Utd. that season.  I was reading Andy Gray in the Telegraph earlier, saying how after that game he was at Doug's house discussing how we were going to rebuild - all due to respect to Jordan Ayew and Rudi Gestede but if the inevitable happens tomorrow, I couldn't imagine either getting on a plane to discuss immediate matters with Randy !

I am hoping to look across towards Bournemouth fans and shout 'who are ya' at the few still left in the ground  and celebrate a 4-0 win.

Would that be the same Andy Gray whose famous alleged ultimatum to the club was sell me to anybody I don't care where I go I just want to go?  I do not doubt that he went to Doug's house and talked about the future of the club but it was more about Doug's ego than Gray's football foresight.  Like Bill Shankly used to phone Bobby Charlton at daybreak every Sunday to talk about the Saturday football.

As I remember Andy Gray left because he'd fallen out with Ron Suanders and Dennis Mortimer amongst others, and ultimately Doug Ellis was removed from the board over it - although that was a bad time for us with Andy Gray (who along with Gordon Cowans will always be my all time favourite Villa player) wanting to leave, there's no disputing the impact he had between 1975 & 1979.

Even now, you can tell Andy is a Villa man (once a Villa man etc..) - I was merely making  the point, that the commitment between all concerned these days can't hold a candle to it compared to 30 years ago.

Probably with a relatively half-hearted 'Meh'.

I just hope there are no fake emotions from the likes of Micah Richards etc.

If and when they lose today, do what you've done all season and walk off not giving a shit having given the barest, minimum effort.

Hopefully we'll never see them again wearing our kit.

I'll be feeling exactly as I've felt since the Jan window. Comfortably Numb.

Andy Gray wanted to leave because he was up to his knackers in debt, I was told.

Yes, but wasn't there some major thing with him & John Gidman thinking they could get the better of Ron Saunders ?

At half time I was actually pretty despairing. Come seventy odd minutes I was rooting for Norwich. I want these bastards out of the club.

The answer was frantically checking the phone to see if Norwich had equalised so it would finally all be over.

They hadn't, the twats.

That's right, the same one who loved Villa so much that he turned down being our Assistant Manager to join Sky instead.

I've never known a season when defeats have been so certain.
