We should do all we can to entice Gilo back, give Brown his P45 and break the bank to sign an overseas player with proven leadership to replace Bell.
Replace Bell!!!
Brown maybe, no complaints about Bell in this format from me 5 x 50's done his job, showed maybe too much faith in OHD on occasion plus Gordon but Gordon come through
and bowled well lately. Barkers injury not helped. Hain's run out of Porterfield may have been critical also tonight. Last thing i want to see is an overseas captain, i don't necessarily
agree with keeper as overseas player but i want us to pay for an overseas run scorer not put pressures of captaincy on him as well.
You watch far more Warwickshire than I do but he seems too old school for 20/20 cricket and his captaincy decisions in all forms have sometimes baffled (Javid only having four overs the other night a fine example).

I get the overseas captain negativity but I just feel we could do with a shake up, unless there is someone else already in the squad who could be captain. Too early for Hain but Trott seems to have a better cricketing brain than Bell. Porterfield would be a better captain but is he as good as Mike Brearley if you understand what I mean.

Dearie dearie me,there was me worried about our pathetic bowling attack and forgetting about how piss poor our batting is quite often .All i heard was how hard it was to get the ball of the square yet Lancs managed 40 0dd 0ff the last three overs .Until the powers that be at Edgbaston wake up to the fact that Dougie Brown nice chap that he is,is just not up to the job and needs to be replaced ,we are not going anywhere. Yet again some strange decisions tonight,as someone mentioned, with the spinners bowling so well, why bring Clarke back who promptly went for 18 .Rank bad decision making by Hain to run out Porterfield twice in a week. Why not play Ambrose just as a batsmen,he is in good form .The stubborn way of Brown not to play Chopra in white ball cricket yet is ok for red ball.Oh i could go on but what is the use, maybe when we are out of all white ball cricket come Monday night and Mr Snowball the top man at the club wakes up to all the potential revenue we will lose ,he will act

Stubborn refusal to spend the massive amounts of money we get, as a regular international venue, on proven stars costs us again.
Not sure if that's strictly true ....we have probably the largest debt in county cricket which to be fair we manage very well unlike a smaller
county such as Durham who are on verge of administration, being threatened by ECB. We are a long way from that due, i suppose,to our prudence
on the playing budget. In all honesty i don't give a toss about T20 competition. To me personally it's the least important of the 3 formats, as much as i enjoy T20
Championship cricket is for me the barometer we should measure ourselves against. We ain't setting the world alight currently but we aren't doing too badly.
Next couple of seasons going to be a little upheaval with Chopra going so time will tell, the development of our young talent is hopefully going to benefit us in the long term.
Finances i am more than happy to see Mr Snowball ride that...he has only recently taken over let us as a membership give him the opportunity to deliver long term.
I want to win things as much as the next man believe me.

Some of the collapses over the last 6 or 7 games have been pathetic. Continually playing the likes of OHD & Gordon and leaving out Chopra/Trott & Ambrose is plain stupid. Brown needs to go. Dare I say it, things have got progressively worse since Povey went. Would love Gilo back but I think he's signed a new contract at Lancs? Very dissapointed at such a gutless performance, akin to Villa last season!

The Powers that be at the club seem to have overlooked just how bad we were in the second of last season .In the winter we brought nobody in bar some unknown wicket keeper from Staffs who they have loaned out to Derby. I remember Brown going on about how strong our bowling line up was and how difficult it was going to be to leave people out .Apart from the fact he was in my opinion over rating the likes of OHD and Gordon,he was forgetting that the likes of Rankin,Wright and Jones are injury prone and miss large chunks of a season. We also have the situation where one of our best players is now leaving ,the club say he wants to leave to be nearer home ,yet we have heard nothing like that from Chopra himself

Agree, Bears are in decline under Brown. The Chopra situation is odd, a good servant over his tenure, and I think a better captain than Bell. Investment in the squad which needs fresh blood is a must over the winter.

So the Bears have signed Olly Stone from Northants. I hope he is better than the last  bowler called Olly we signed. He has signed a 3 year contract. The bad news is he wont play until next season as he is injured (should fit with most of our bowlers then) It is good to see we are actually active in looking to bring players in,i think it would'nt be a bad idea to go back to Northants and get Ben Duckett

Royal London Cup North Group latest scores:
Derby 272/7 v Northants 91/0 13.2    Need Northants to win this.
Worc 55/1 8 overs replying to Lancs 267/7 Ideal result for us i suppose is a rain result 1 point each
Leic 279 v Notts 31/1 7.5 overs.....Need Leicester to win this
Durham 281/7 Yorks 46/2 10.2   Need Yorks to win this

Too many ifs and buts...basically we're f--ked. You can watch our last game of the group on SS2 tomorrow afternoon where we MUST win to have the
remotest chance of qualification.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/english-one-day/table

The Group 1 table after todays games
Tomorrows fixtures to complete the set:
Derby v LEICESTER
LANCS v Durham
Notts v WORC
Yorks v BEARS

Teams in caps i believe need to win, but i think WE must win as a winner from Derby v Leicester will go on to 8 points.
I suppose if heavens open nationwide and all games rained off then we qualify!!!

So it's in our own hands. Time for Dougie and Bell to prove me wrong.
