A disappointing 4th set for Murray 3-6

2 each now ...a 5th set to come

GB pulled semi back to 2-2 earlier with Andy's victory over Pella.

The Argentine tactic of playing Del Potro in the doubles has really backfired, they thought they could take an unassailable 3-0 lead. They failed so now
Del Potro is too tired or not 100% to take his place in the deciding rubber against Villas own Dan Evans.
So it's Meyler lined up against Dan and Dan has taken the first set 6-4 and 1-1 in 2nd.

Great atmosphere and great viewing.

Started off well, lost momentum and then got a mauling. He's a Viila fan alright.

Yep, the Argentinian player was too strong in the end.  GB really need Murray to win both his games and the doubles with his brother at that level.

A belated well done to Andy Murray winning the China open last Sunday following on from another title in the Far East the week before. Two tournament victories in 10 matches and didn't drop a set! Rapidly closing on the number one spot to topple Djokovic. A brilliant year for him and now playing the best tennis of his career.

Another trophy for Andy! Great that he's World number one. Hopefully he will go into 2017 as still the number one!

He will, and should extend his lead over Djokovic because after reaching the Aussie Open Final he took a few weeks off to be with his new babby and then had a relatively poor run of results until reaching the French Open final and then teaming up with Lendl before Wimbledon.

So not too many ranking points to defend in the first six months of 2017.

Hopefully he will win more majors next year. When his tennis career is over, he will mainly be judged on how many grand slams he won, not how long he spent as no 1 in the rankings.
