I think win and a draw would give us enough hope to keep going. 2 wins and we will stay up but can't see 2 wins on the bounce.

Dogged 0-1 win.
Have a feeling Jack will start this one with Ayew and Rudy up top.
First game this season we aren't on the tv here so of course we'll win!!

If Richard's is fit, I'd like him to play right back with Okore remaining at centre half.

It'll be interesting to see what Garde does with Sanchez being out. The four man midfield has made us look a lot more solid and given Veretout a bit more freedom. Will we see the young lad Jordan Lyden thrown in or will he start Gil?

Oh and Happy Birthday PaulWinch.

I can't help thinking we'll win this. I've no idea where this blind optimism has come from.
You've been on the sherry!
Hmm.... I'll post again in the morning when I've sobered up then.
Good idea and if you arrive at the same conclusion I would start worrying.
It's the morning, I'm sober, and I'm still of the same opinion.

And so are 58% of the poll as I type this. Who knew crystal meth was so widely available?

Quite a few positive posters in this thread.

Just a pity that Garde doesn't share that positivity.

He'll hold out for a 1-1 draw at best.

Take something to read Traore.

I don't think we've played for draw's at all. We had to stop the habit of losing first of all and picking up points have done that. We need to build on it now though.

Losing Sanchez did cost us, but I was a little dismayed at how poorly the players adapted to the substitution. Maybe there was a lack of clarity in instructions from the bench, who knows. They looked better organised when they came back out. Veretout is starting to look like a threat playing where he is, I'd try to not have to move him, but does Remi believe he has other resources to keep him there? I don't know, so it's a good job I'm not him!
If Richards is fit, I'd get him in at right-back. Hutton, for all his admirable enthusiasm, simply cannot cross, and his defensive positioning is costing us regularly. That's the change I'd make, I'll leave the Sanchez conundrum to Garde.
And here's hoping it feels like all our birthdays come later!
Villa win, I feels it.
