Script for Sunday - Arsenal turn up at Villa Park a bit lethargic after their European exploits in the week,  but instead of putting pressure  on them  we let them coast along in second gear, knocking the ball around the back and midfield.  Something then clicks andArsenal get two quick goals  before half time effectively ending the game.  We rarely threaten in the second half and Arsenal go on to add another, possibly two in the last few minutes.  There then follows a massive circle jerk in the Sky studio  featuring some ex-Arsenal player over how great they are.

Please don't let this happen  lads!

Last time we beat Arsenal at home was on a Sunday and it was December 13th..........

I guess in our position you need to clutch any straw you can find.

Whats the most any team has scored against us in a year? They're up to 9 so far.

If you're talking calendar year Chelsea did 12 in 2012, 4-2 at Villa park, and then 8-0 over that especially miserable Xmas period the season after.

My first game on The Holte was against these. Tony Woodcock scored 5, hated them ever since.
Villa 1 Arsenal 0.

I remember us beating them 5-1 on a Wednesday night 1979 perhaps? They went 1-0 up (Frank Stapleton) then we got 5. John Deehan I think got a hat trick and and someone (memory fade) got a brace? O'Leary played that for them too.
Oh for that result on Sunday....

Gary Shelton. I think Forest were playing i n Europe and it was the main game on Radio 2 and updates were coming in on the Villa game which brought anhuge smile to my face. Remember because bloke had similar surname to Forest goaile.

I think they were playing catch up on fistures having had to play a lot of FA Cup replays - sure they played Sheffiled Wednesday about 5 times and  after a harsh winter.

Fearing the worst, hoping for the best!  Seat for this one is in L7 - will definitely not be sitting there would prefer even L1 seat, at least I wont have a certain number of wannabe  ultras standing up singing weird songs (not really football related throughout the game)

1-2 defeat. Typically the 2 decent players in a wretched season so far, Amavi and Richards both out injured....
