Sanchez on for Gana? I'd have thought for Westwood, but nobody really deserved to stay on that pitch from our team.
Presumably it's a reflection of games played during the week for their country. Westwood's had 2 weeks to lounge around ...

Damage limitation now we can't afford a complete annihilation

What concerns me is that we are not just bad defensively - even if we got that right, look at the other end of the pitch, and there is pretty much nothing there.

Ayew looked like the Weimann replacement but we blatantly didn't replace Benteke

The last few seasons we got away with it - and even then only just - because no matter how shit we were, we had a top class centre forward who stayed fit for enough matches to score enough goals.

Now we are even worse, but up front there is no hint of a likely source of goals.

I think Garde will improve us and I suspect he'll buy a striker and a keeper in January, but I have a feeling by then we will be cut so far loose that even if we are not mathematically down, psychologically we are finished

I was going to ask if Westwood is taking corners, I doubt we've got that far

Let's try it 3-1, at least then there's an air of respectability.

True, although Leicester looked dead and buried last season in January, with a squad of largely-unnoticed players and managed to find their mojo.

If it's any consolation at all, and it really isn't, Bournemouth now 2-2 with Swansea and Vardy has given Leicester the lead at Newcastle.

Every week I write Vardy off thinking he can't possibly keep this up. Despite being a bit of a knob, he's certainly producing on the pitch.
does that put him past Van Horseface?

Level, I think. I scoffed when we were linked with him in the Summer!! Lets be honest, he'd never have done this for us -Leicester City are light years ahead of us.

Leicester City.

They are ahead of everyone as I write

I really dislike the owner but it shouldn't be this bad.

They can do what they like in Jan but we will be so far adrift by then it will take a miracle to save us.

You're probably right. Oh happy days.   :(

There's absolutely no purpose to the team today. Our midfield looked so compact and organised against Man City, today the opposite. I'd love to know how Remi thinks we'll score a goal. Grealish is invisible, he may look great in training but produces next to nothing on matchday. Ayew is surrounded by 5 players and Gil is playing so deep he could be playing right back. Only Hutton is managing to do anything in Everton's half.

The less about our comedy defence the better.
