Really? He's be to us what Rio Ferdinand was to QPR.

Ferdinand was completely shot fitness wise.

We need a short term solution at left back, and Cole is miles better than Bacuna or Richardson there.

Bring Cissokho back too from Porto and have some competition there.

Yep I agree, I think Cole will be a very useful addition. We just need to make sure we get to January where we're in a position that we have a realistic chance of survival.

Naismith is a decent shout.

Yes it is. I'm not sure what's gone at Everton for him. Martinez seemed to get the best out of him for a while but he's not getting a game now.

I don't think it's anything more strange than you're just not going to play him ahead of Lukaku, Deulofeu, Kone or Barkley.

Good point.

That'll be the Cole who was let go by Roma, partly because he couldn't adjust to Italian football, they pretty much gave up on him after 11-12 games.

I caught a couple of Roma games early last season and he was rinsed more thoroughly than Electrolux could have managed.

He might have more ability than Richardson, but he'll end up spending most of the game just as far away from his man because he'll never get near him.

and Fiorentina only gave Micah 10 games - he seems to be doing ok !

I'd like to see Mica at centre defensive mid. Play Joleen & Okore at the back, Hutton left bk, Bacuna right back.

That way Mica can travel forward with the ball & he's also good at passing the ball too.

Thoughts?

He's certainly tightened up our defence.

Not sure he is what we need, an occaisional goal scoring midfielder that is usefull but hardly dominant. Jedinak is more like it.
He will not leave Palace now.

Richards was dropped because the new coach wanted to play with 3 at the back and didn't think he was a good enough centre back to play there. He's average as a centre back but very good as a right back.

As an aside, I'd lay a few of our goals at Richard's door as he's too easily pulled out of position or vulnerable to someone running off him inside.

Cole was dropped for a 30 year old who was struggling to get a game with Olympiakos.

how old is Cole now ; 34ish? sort of pensionable in football terms and I think he'd view the Villa as the equivalent of one in his dotage.

We need to loan as many as we're allowed. The kinds of players that we need won't sign in our current situation unless they're currently playing at a significantly lower standard and therefore will be a massive gamble or at least need time that we don't have to settle. Unless there's anyone good left in Scotland. They'd come and would probably settle, Maloney notwithstanding.

Really? He's be to us what Rio Ferdinand was to QPR.

To be fair Rio Ferdinand had more important things going on in his life last season, do not think this is a fair comparison in the slightest. Anyone who doesn't think Cole is good enough for us at this time is wrong, I would think. What I would think is he will have far more exciting offers than us
