In 1985/86/87 it was Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life... It was then hijacked by another group of fans, who stripped it of the irony and made it "their" song.

First aired in the 6-2 defeat to Tony Woodcock in 1983 I believe (my mates tell me this as I was a student in Paris that season).

I think the Brigada boys are behind the Three Little Birds song.

Happy Talk in Captain Sensible mode would well suit the limited vocal range of our chaps, and conveys much the same sentiment.

I'm Villa Till I Die was very impressive last night, and I suppose the original lyrics could be restored and delivered in Figgis (James Bolam) mode to supply a sufficiently maudlin backdrop to proceedings. Or maybe Happy House by Siouxie and The Banshees should things go further pear shaped.

Restoring the original lyrics to only when I laugh is a great shout

Yeah remember it well, proving that the Holte can always see humour in anything

Can we get Musical Youth out of retirement to write us a relegation anthem?

Let them be, we have The Specials - You're Wondering Now.

Three Little Birds is alright. We should learn the rest of he words mind.

The songs about how shit we are etc were moronic, but when every year 10 and 11 appeared to be on a jolly from school, it wasn't hard to see why the moron stakes were upped.

Kids em daft.

Would you rather those morons support Man City or Chelsea?

Pass (to) the Frenchie (on the left hand side).

I also have a 7" picture disc of a track of theirs called Never Gonna Give You Up. Maybe that could work?

Why not? They were my heroes. From about 3/4 years old (1983/84), I used to play loads of their records on my orange dansette. My Dad scratched my name into the run out groove on the records as though the band had deliberately done it just for me.

It was them (and UB40), that led me into loving Jamaican music as much as I do now. Nowt to be ashamed about.

Bit too commercial isn't it? Absolutely everyone knows the Legend stuff.

How about 'I'm Hurting Inside' - also by Bob and a far more apt, and a much, much better song, with a brilliant horn section.

Lyrics are bang on for us too..

'Don't you know I'm..
I'm hurtin', hurtin' inside...
Oh I'm hurtin'
Who cares
Who cares
Does the one who love
Oh...Feel the pain
Feel the pain!'

Isn't it borrowed from Ajax or Dortmund or someone? It seems familiar somehow.
