Need the win and will get the win I guessing on a 2-1 scoreline. Now it could be one of those stokes attacking players don't turn up and we go in to a comfortable 2-0 lead and concede late on when big man crouch comes on causing panic . or its a hard fought 90 of a to and fro match. Ireland and sidwell prob wont start but the booing will be held for any sub appearances I imagine.
I have to say without shawcross stoke haven't be as near as solid and they have conceded on their travles this season. Hughes seems to have an imbalanced squad focusing on the attack players. The players I fear most are bojan who will look for pockets of space and the pesky anautovic who delivers crossing and shots well. Also Shaqiri could find his feet if allowed and can score from anywhere. I think he must be monitored as amavi could be up against today.
Wolschild and munisea or Cameron are suspect at back and can be beaten I think it's a to and fro match and hope it comes together.
I think a penalty or set play will win this one after the initial early goal!
Come on villa boys
2-1
Gestede
Sinclair pen.
Crouch

Line up
                 guzan,
Hutton,Clark Richards, amvai
  Ghana Sanchez Westwood
Sinclair Gestede Grealish

I rate butland who could well get booed too.
Despite Hart good game in champions league think buthead butland could be England's number one . He makes outstanding save after save in each game as stoke defense is porous , ponderous and in stoke like . I would have said more goals for villa but remember their gk. I really don't care their central defnece at the moment though.

Glad I didn't post yesterday, it would've been all doom and gloom. But nothing lifts my funk like the arrival of match day. Fuck these fuckers. Scoreline, scorers, couldn't give a toss. Us some, them fewer, ideally none.

Guzan

Hutton
Richards
Clark
Amavi

Sanchez
Gana
Veretout

Ayew
Gestede
Grealish
is how I'd go. But half expecting to see Lescott, Bacuna, Westwood, Gil and Sinclair getting the nod.

Just want Sherwood to adopt the same approach  he did for Benteke for Gestede. Get the ball into him and he will either score or drag the central defenders out and create space for Sinclair-Ayewe-Grealish etc. Hope Traore gets half hour. 2-0 ........

What villa bars are worth checking out pre-game?

Reasonably confident but that's based on the assumption of a sensible starting line up that doesn't include the likes of Lescott, Gabby and possibly Westwood

Id go with Hutton (as poor as he was at Liverpool, he's better than Bacuna), Richards, Lescott, Amavi, Sanchez anchoring, Gana and Veretout getting box to box so we can button up the midfield for once, Ayew and Grealish off Gestede.

We need to cut out the early balls into Gestede unless they are there for him to attack in the box.

Personally I think messageboards are for the delusional, the egotistical and  the downright sad.

Quite right. I confess to being all of the above.

Imagine villa getting a decent result today.

How nice would that be?

Aston Tavern. On my way now. £3-4 in but can go after the game as well and decent eye candy behind the bar !!

Really can't see a win here. We're just too leaky. Hope I'm wrong

Hmm, now that team selection seems baffling to me.
