My Bluenose mate text me during their game to ask about the Villa match.

I bet he had no idea they were playing.

We don't know anybody who supports Man United/Liverpool etc from Brum really do we?

We know decent people whose opinions on football we are not interested in and nor will we ever be.

Ticket sales in the upper trinity and doug are looking as sh1te as ever, this has been happening for years now.

Why aren't the villa addressing this problem  ?  >:(

This should be a sell out!

Why the obsession with a sell out? It was never likely to, given the TV coverage and the sales criteria. A likely crowd of around 35,000 would be a decent turnout. A few empty seats? Who gives a shit?

A 'few empty seats' being 7000 given your prediction.

I give a shit, you wouldn't see such low attendances at other major derbys in England. Yet we claim ours to be the biggest and between us the gates are pretty shocking.

And I wouldn't claim going to two games in the last two and abit seasons as 'difficult criteria' as you're suggesting.

All the lower tier seats and the Holte is sold out, so its just the upper Trinity, Doug and North that will have empty seats. A televised 3rd round League Cup game on a Tuesday night against our scummy neighbours with the overriding question of football violence...I can understand why certain sections of fans (particularly those that travel or families) would decide not to attend this game.

edit: doesn't look as though the Baggies game will sell out either tomorrow in the same sections...probably about 38000 tomorrow.

I understand the voilence stance regarding families etc, but that should hinder other derbys too shouldn't it ? Doesn't seem to affect attendances up north.

We're just coming out with excuses Imo.

And yes dissapointing again regarding tomorrow, which goes back to my original point about doing something about the upper trinity/Doug

I've never been to a Liverpool, Manchester, Tyneside or any of the London derbies so no idea if they are as fractious as our games with Blose (in particular) or Baggies. There could be an extra thousand added to the gate tomorrow getting tickets on the day, but not sure what the club are supposed to do other than reduce ticket prices or remove varied booking history criteria.

Attendances may actually start to recover after years of dross being served down at Villa Park but TS needs to start getting wins at home to get Villa Park full and rocking again.

Lets face it, outside of Birmingham, neither of these fixtures are particularly "attractive" as attendances over the last few seasons show:

7th March 2015: 39,592 (FA Cup)
3rd March 2015: 31,272
29th January 2014: 36,083
30th September 2012: 34,489
22nd October 2011: 34,152
11th December 2010: 37,015

If we get anything around or above 38,000 then it will be an improvement on recent years.

In the latest "You couldn't make it up" I was having a look on their forum and a few of them based down here are meeting up in a pub for the game.

They've only gone and unknowingly gone and ha their 'first London meet' in a Baggies pub.

It's even called The Albion.

I know it's a derby and 'anything can happen' but if we don't beat them we can have no excuses. Watched them tonight and they're workmanlike and nothing more, same as they were against Derby a few weeks ago. Both Ipswich and Derby were much the better team and should have won. Blose are in a false position, they haven't got the quality to maintain it.

Dunno about the Ipswich game. Penalty seemed dodgy to me, although their goal scorer should probably have been sent off earlier. I thought that Shinnie fella they have seemed to have a bit of talent about him if you let him play, hopefully we won't.
