Him, Jack and Gil could make a hell of an attacking-midfield three. I think they'd complement each other well.

True but there will be some holding midfielder who wont half have to do some tackling behind them

That's pretty much what Sanchez' game is designed for. Thought he looked good at the weekend, and hope he can go on and make that position his own this season.

To be honest, it would be nice for Sanchez to make that position his own for 90 minutes.

Ha, that's a good point!!  Ideally, we'd have Sanchez and Gueye as a solid base in midfield which would allow attacking players a bit more freedom.  Westwood just isn't mobile enough to cover the ground he would have to in a two man midfield.

A two man midfield shouldn't have to cover much ground.  Their job is to pretty much sit in front of the back four.  If they're running about too much then a good team will quickly isolate the wandering defensive midfielder.

We all want to see him sooner rather than later but not sure how less than 20 mins on the pitch in 2 games in 2013 have any relevance as to whether he is ready for this weekend or not.

He looked pretty ready to me .........

Still doesn't have much to do with 20 mins on the pitch 2 years ago.

My first proper look at him tonight. He's scary. It's like he has a cheat mode on.

He's ace. He better not be injured.

Their player should have gone for 2 yellows on him. Looked a stamp that knobbled him. They didn't have a clue how to deal with him so just started hacking him.

Yeah. If the referee had dished out a few more (deserved) bookings, they'd never have risked a tackle like the one that caused Traore to hobble off. Hopefully nothing too serious. He was able to run a bit after the injury because Gil, for some reason, gave him the ball. Fingers crossed that suggests it's not too severe.

He could have a field day against that Sunderland defence so I hope he's ok

We definitely need pace against Sunderland and if not him it probably means gabby! Don't get the sense Ayew did himself many favours tonight

Very exciting player.

Not the finished article yet. Just needs to learn when to pass and cross.

It reminded me of Escape To Victory when the German team kept hacking at Pele but just couldn't stop him.

Sherwood said he's not looking great so far.

He also said the Palace game was too early.  Hopefully he's bluffing again.
