Wonder if Benteke and Delph are looking at developments with a little regret?
An interesting thought but one that is, ultimately, flawed.

I still can't quite get my head around the speed at which we have moved from signing cast-offs and mediocre lower-league Brits, to a massive supermarket sweep of bright young talents from the continent.

I'm still trying to adjust to this strange urge to want to watch us play.

This time last season we'd have been looking at Joe Bloggs from Accrington, who turns us down to go to Bolton!!

Not read it anywhere officially, but Danish FCB site says they have a buy-back clause until 2018, and after that first refusal. Not sure what that means practically.

But if that is what it takes to get such a talent, so be it. Rather have him for a while and lift the club than not at all :)

So excited I could squirt...

Just so no one panics, he has stretched the shirt in the traditional new signing manner. So it's official.

Now, that's a proper fucking shirt stretching. Well played young man.

What we need is one of those Che Guevara Viva La Revolucion t-shirts made up with Sherwood's mug on it. Because that is exactly what this is. The dead club we all knew in February in a few short months has been smashed to pieces, burnt to the ground and is starting to be rebuilt.

Just told my lad that we'd signed a player from Barcelona.
"Is it Messi?" he asked. Oh to be 6 again.

My lad (7) said to me yesterday

'Dad we would have won the FA Cup, if Arsenal weren't so good'

Which of course is absolutely true

I'm dying to see us play. I know like every club we'll lose some but we are going play attacking exciting football and go down trying to win. That's all any of us can ask for.

Presume that if Delph had stayed we would be looking at the same ins minus Gana, in which case maybe so in his case. But that's total guesswork and take your point that you can't know much one hinged on the other.

Look at that, proper stretchage that is, almost tearing it apart.

Hadn't we already signed Marvin before Delph performed his double backflip with half pike?

Balague from sky sports says: Adama, new Aston Villa player for €10m+ €2 in variables: fast, irregular, too individualistic and has to be more humble. Got my doubts

That's a pretty good summation of Balague; now what has he said about Traore?
