It would be nice to see what else Sherwood has in his locker other than the 4-3-2-1 formation, especially when it isn't working.

Unless Sherwood has something up his sleeve for the second half it's looking like we have come for a draw

Wow, the miserable brigade are back after only 45 minutes of the season.

What the hell are your expectations man....Champions league after losing our 2 best players and battling relegation for 4-5 seasons.

Amavi looks decent, still no idea about the others and gabby is being gabby.

Big space between our striker and the midfield which needs filling otherwise the ball is just going to keep coming back.

On the down side: that was pretty shit, I get the feeling we might have another season of not scoring many goals.

On the positive side: Veretout has seen plenty of the ball, Richards looks good.

Only the first game of the season, mind.

Anyone else's feed go to the Everton match for the end of their first half? They were getting very loudly booed off.

Booing the team in the first game of the season? What bastards. Scum. Subhuman scum. Hope the media slaughter them.

Fucking Hell, I'd take a draw.

Why isn't Veretout taking free kicks and corners?  I thought he was a dead-ball specialist?

He took a corner but passed it short to SirClive

I thought Talksport were just Anti-Villa but looking at the comments we are poor. They said Amavi looks a very poor player? This was always going to take time to be honest so I would definitely take a draw here. Very surprised Gabby has started on his own upfront?

Why is Westwood taking corners?  Hasn't there been more than enough evidence over the last 3 years that he's shit at them?

All that fucking floated rubbish he does. An absolute waste of set pieces.

I thought we'd see Veretout taking them. Westwood is a nice nothing footballer.

And just to top it off, we have to listen to that bitter, mumbling twat Lambert at half time.  Marvellous.

I expect they think the ref has got it in for them, they always do, bless them. Still, I'm sure Cleverley will rescue them second half
