Lawro surprise surprise has us down to lose 2-1

To be fair, we always do crap against newly promoted teams early on, it was the fixture I most wanted to avoid.

Urgh.

Mellberg dropped by O'Leary to prove an unnecessary point and Barry sent of in the last minute for mouthing off to a linesman?

Lambert's first match at West Ham is another.

Can't be bothered to trawl through the stats, but it certainly feels like a truism that newly promoted teams start well (unless you're called Burnley)

Living down here, I seemed to know coach loads of Pompey fans as well at the time. They've all gone very quiet now mind you.

I always say it, but even Derby County when they got 11 points all season (I think), got a draw in their first game.

We won the Ashes that day.  Could be an ominous omen.

Oh no, I'm thinking of when O'Dreary was there.  Ignore me.

Didn't Berger score for them, you know like when he was still good.

Apparently he has the dubious honour of commentating with Jack tomorrow
