Millwall not Liverpool

Yes the ga,e at Millwall was shifted because there was a local protest against closure of the local NHS hospital in Bermondsey or Lewisham. Chico was there with his family fraternising with the Millwall mascot IIRC

Correct . I'd been down to go to the Saturday game as a corporate guest. Once it went to Friday they got back to me strongly suggesting not to go on the Friday night . So I didn't.

I was hoping I'd never be reminded of that game.
It was freezing cold and we were kept in for 45 minutes after the game had ended.
They can claim what they like about making progress but they live in a bygone age.

Couldn't the police have "rejected" an EDL march on the Saturday because of a football match taking place that day ?

What, and have the fuckers banging on about restriction of freedoms, how we are bowing to Islam, the loony leftards and other bollocks? Better to let them get on with it so we can all ignore them.

Looks like Sky wanted all the top four live on the first weekend anyway so it was going to move one way or the other.

We played the Albion on a Friday night when we were in the second division for no reason I can remember.

I think the concern was it was the last shopping weekend before Christmas, and that might affect the gate.

So they moved it to Friday night and barely 20,000 turned up.

The only thing I can remember about that game was I was sitting in the Trinity and Birchy hit the post from about 25 yards out.

I remember laughing at the sight of a young Carlton Palmer charging around like a startled giraffe.

EDL

Bas####s

I remember them marching in Hinckley , then while  they were going back to the train station , most of them came into my shop .
I was hoping to make a bit of money off them for ten minutes or so but all they did was rob me , just took wine and beer without paying and they were utter scum.

And yes I'm white . F##k knows what would happen if it was an Asian shop.

Utter mindless thuggery scum .

My first sighting of Carlton Palmer was in a league cup game at The Hawthorns a couple of years before. He looked like a basketball player and due to the conditions the match was played with an orange ball. I was waiting for him to pick it up and dribble basketball style with it. I missed the Friday night Albion game as I was in Australia on holiday but I remember playing Swansea the Friday before the European Cup Final, Liverpool in that 1-3 where I think Dennis Mortimer put us one up before Rush got a hat trick on an icy pitch (most of the players seemed to be wearing pimpled soled trainers like they did on astroturf). BBC showed one of Rush's goals n the MOTD credits for what seemed like ages afterwards. It would have been January 20th 1984 as I remember it was my mum's birthday. We also played Forest on a Friday night just before Christmas 1989 in the ZDS Cup and won 2-1 i think.

I still more worried about the Villa defence than the EDL.

The only Friday night match I have ever been to was Paul Birch's testimonial in the summer of '91.

I have a bizarre memory that David Platt, who had recently left us for Bari officially kicked the match off, as in touched the ball once on the sound of the ref's whistle before sprinting off the pitch, whilst dressed in his Bari Kit.

Did that actually happen or did I imagine the whole thing?!
