Actually forgot how annoying the MOTD punditry is. Suspect a lot of strings twanged and mates tapped for those jobs.

I'll just tape it and fast forward to the actual match like I used to.

Hopefully this goes ahead and I never have to stomach the 'old boys' club on MOTD ever again!

Sky Sports are considering a controversial move that could impact the viewing figures of the BBC's Match of the Day programme.

According to a report in the Mail, the hierarchy at Sky are considering making Premier League highlights available in the immediate aftermath of games concluding.

The broadcaster are believed to be giving serious thought to broadcasting three-minute clips of key moments from games on YouTube in a controversial move which would see fans given the chance to watch highlights before the BBC show airs on a Saturday and Sunday night.

Bloody Hell, three minutes! That's more time than our season's highlights on Quest.

Always bugged me how poor the match editing is on MOTD too. Whenever I've watched a Villa game on MOTD after being at Villa Park for the match, I've lost count how many times they've portrayed a completely different game in their edited highlights (especially if it's one of the 'Sky 6').

3 minutes solid rammed full of Villa goals will do for me!  ;)

Used to love MOTD and go out of my way to avoid seeing spoilers before it was on. I wonder at what point it became so annoying. It’s funny because I quite like lineker, it’s just the rest of them.

Also funny because you’d have though it’s quite hard to find anyone more annoying than ‘Lawro’ but incredibly it’s gone downhill since he left.

Lineker isn't actually that bad. But what was once essential viewing is now pretty meh. Totally agree with Mr Lamptey above in regards to the ridiculous editing at certain Villa matches the past. But its the absolute banality of the pundits they wheel on every week to dispense totally safe, conforming gibberish. Dion Dublin aside, they're awful. Hopefully after a few appearances Richards will be found out for the idiot he is and he'll be gone.

Far too much punditry and not enough action. We already saw the goals replayed at least twice, so we don't need numpties telling us it was a good finish or the boy got a bit lucky there.

Talking about the two Arsenal players not travelling today and worries about security at home when you have an away match. He must have a fantastic memory.

I think he explained his career at Villa pretty well. Including the different approaches of different managers.

He said Sherwood brought him in and things started quite well. Another manager (I assume Bruce trained him in such a way that his knee injury wasn’t managed. Dean came in and decided Micah's Body wasn’t up to the task and that was where his career finished.

I can’t really see what I would blame Micah for there.

Bruce’s approach to football is probably something along the lines of Bob Mortimer’s ‘Burnley Way.’ https://mobile.twitter.com/athleticomince/status/1145680555943575553?lang=en
