He’s a proper soldier, bless him. Thanks for the nice words but I’m fully satisfied with how my career worked out,” Richards tweeted , in response to a Manchester City supporter.“Injuries stopped me hitting more heights but how can I grumble at winning the Prem, playing in a different league and a tough mental challenge at Villa! I give 100% in everything I do! That’s enough.”
Yeah, must be a real tough mental challenge at Villa, trying to keep a straight face while collecting his next weekly wedge and struggling to work out how much he's screwed out of us. Real tough life for him
Maybe it is his knee and he's just not been fit enough. He started off OK. I don't hate him at all, I had a perception he couldn't be arsed but if the lad is retiring then there must be something in it.
I don't like him, thought he was a poor choice as a centre back and would've loved us to have been able to cancel his contract when we came down but I don't think charlatan is fair. I think he'd like to play, there's been a number of comments that have suggested as much, but he's just incapable of it.I have much more of an issue with the guy who decided to make him centre back and captain.

Belongs firmly in the Hall of Shame alongside N'Zogbia, Ireland, McCormack and a number of others over the past few years. Bet they cannot believe their luck.
