Delph just about shades Hutton for me with Clarke and Baker both playing far better than I thought them capable of, Benteke fantastic but only in the final few games.

No doubt about Grealish for the other one.

Over the full season I have Hutton way ahead of Delph. In fact, I'd have Clark ahead of Delph too. Agree with you about Baker. He was in great form showing so much maturity before his injury.

Obviously there's only Grealish in for a shout for Young Player.

I love Delph, did even in his low times here but I can't agree with people saying he's been consistent all-season. He was average for most games under Lambert this season. Like others, Sherwood has brought something approaching his best out of him on a regular basis.

Hutton has been the most consistent player over the whole season.

Grealish and Okore, probably the latter, depending on what the definition of 'young' is?

Fabian Delph is our player of the season - for the second year running.

Delph clocked up 51% of the vote to emerge victorious.

The skipper - and England star - will now receive the famous Terrace Trophy on the pitch after the final home game of the season on Sunday against Burnley.

Delph has been a driving force in the midfield, alongside Tom Cleverley, Ashley Westwood and Carlos Sanchez.

The 25-year-old is a strong vocal force in the dressing room.

But he's also led by example with some exemplary performances in claret and blue.

Goal machine Christian Benteke - who has been prolific in the nervous run-in - was second in the poll on 20%.

Emerging defender Ciaran Clark - who has showed maturity and class at the back - was third with 18%.

Our young player of the season has also been revealed - and it's forward ace Jack Grealish.

Starlet Jack clocked up an incredible 82% of the votes to see off Jores Okore in second and Callum Robinson in third.

Grealish was seen as a hot prospect when the term began - and Tim Sherwood has given him his chance in the season finale.

Over the past few weeks, he has sparkled on the Barclays Premier League stage.

The 19-year-old was also one of our star performers at Wembley as we defeated Liverpool to guarantee a final berth in the FA Cup against Arsenal.

Our goal of the season winner will be revealed on the big screens after the Clarets match.

The finalists have been shortlisted, following voting.

They are Fabian Delph's FA Cup semi-final goal against Liverpool, Carles Gil's stunning curled effort against Bournemouth and Christian Benteke's brilliant finish against Man Utd at Villa Park.

Alan Hutton looked a shoo-in earlier in the season.

Alan Hutton looked a shoo-in earlier in the season.

To be fair, Hutton shone in a poor side. Delph has shone in a good one.

If you did a total of ratings per game I think it's Clark

But if it's about influence on the outcome of the season it's benteke or delph

But I'd vote on the basis of the former

I voted for Benteke in the hope that, should he win, it would help to keep him here at least one more season.

It'd be nice if footballers were that sentimental.

I think we voted Downing and Milner player of the year just before they left.

Over the whole season my vote goes to Alan Hutton who stormed back from the outer wilderness. Jack Grealish is the obvious choice for our young player and Carles Gil for goal of the season.

I'm a big fan of grealish but not sure how he can get young player of the season after only playing a handful of games. Yes he played well but I think okore was more deserving of the award

Personally I'd have gone for Clark as he's been the one player this season whose been consistent even under Lamberts reign of terror.  Delph had a few poor spells during the season like most others.

Was Ben Foster in the running?  Given how he has singlehandedly kept us up. ©WM & the Brummie Road End.
