Benteke is Laursen'esque when it comes to leaping like a salmon and putting it where it hurts,

I know this shouldn't matter but I hope we not only get this win for us (obviously) but for Sherwood too. He'd never admit it but it has to be massively important to him personally. I think the fact that openly admits loving being Villa manager is partly down to him feeling aggrieved at not being extended at Spurs. We are a big club and he wants to get things right so going back to Spurs and winning there would offer some vindication that he can do the job at this level., and maybe they were hasty in getting rid of him.

Off course a good ways to go an Spurs will come at us. It will be a big test now for us to go on and win this game. We can do it, and we look so good against their back line so far.

Only downside is Clark going off. I've never known injury problems like we've had the last 4 or 5 years.

Sounds like a good first half, but again we should have scored more. I really hope we don't pay for it again. Come on Villa we need to win this game.

Agree - and the injuries always seem to be long term. We don't seem to see players back in a week or two of getting injured

If we match Burnleys commitment, work rate and desire ( Alan Hanson anyone ) from last week then Spurs won't even score today. There's more goals here for us if the carry on like that second half.

Did it look bad? Could be a blessing with the yellow cards reset after this game if it's not a bad injury.

Good performance so far - though fingers crossed that Spurs continue blasting any opportunities they get over the bar

Excellent goal, especially like the unselfish run by Cleverley that allowed Bacuna the time and space to put the cross over. He has been my player of the half but a long way to go, Rose has far too much space on their left and we may need to change style a bit. Benteke will love beating these tossers after his pathetic sending off with that little arse at VP

Now ffs Villa get the basics right second half..If they do score I would rather it be down to a moment of brilliance  rather than us gifting them a goal.

Seemed to jar his knee when heading a corner away

Benteke can have my collection of early drum and bass records, including the really rare white label that's worth a bit.  He can also have the bottle of chocolate and vanilla stout that I've been saving.  And my Mrs.
