The good news is that we have taken 5 wickets with Wright and Barker looking good. The bad news is that Sam Hain went off with what looks like a bad arm injury.

Worcs all out for 149. Clarke and Rankin got a piece of the action towards the end. The game is there for the taking.

Is Hain out of the game, or will he bat? Hope it's not too serious.

Looked bad to me. I hope I am wrong. We are 57/1 with Chopra on 52. Porterfield took 32 balls to get of the mark. Moeen just brought into their attack.

It says on the BBC Sport website that he has a dislocated shoulder so that is several weeks out

The Hain injury is a big blow, but the word is that Trott will be available for the next game.

The game is ours to lose now, but I reckon if Worcs had a fourth swing bowler then the game would have been a lot closer. Much is justifiably  made of overcast conditions, humidity and moisture in the wicket but I swear that the new Edgbaston sometimes becomes some kind of infernal wind tunnel. The strip is one of those closest to the Rea Bank so you could get a perfect behind the wicket view from the Skyline Terrace above the Tom Dollery. It was swinging big time, with the wind.

In years to come we will learn of the pavillion members who recklessly ventured too long outside before mid July and were frozen into the afterworld. The city end members call it the ice box, and not without good cause.

About to resume after lunch on 196/6, a lead of 311. Chopra 107 not out. Ali just dismissed him  ct Cox first ball.

let Boyd get his 50 then declare. No real need to declare but would be nice.
