Tuesday's game could make or break our season. Given our upcoming games after QPR, it's a must win.

Any possibility that WBA effectively threw the game today?
Yes I believe so.
They did this sort of thing last year and the year before too.

What about all the games Villa have thrown this season in that case?

squeaky bum time. Desperately need to win this game. A draw wouldn't be a disaster at the moment. It's still in our hands though with QPR, Burnley and West Ham still to play at home.

To get a new owner(or owners) we have to stop up. After watching that performance I cannot have much hope. Perhaps Mr Lambert is not the
great saviour of our club after all.

Yes I believe so.
They did this sort of thing last year and the year before too.

Do you genuinely believe that? They're not safe yet, and even if they were each league place is worth the best part of £1m.

How would that work anyway..?

Players : Boss we've decided to lose on purpose today to piss Villa off.
Pulis : Oh go on then, just this once. Best not tell the chairman though. You little tinkers.

The chairman is most likely to tell them to do it.

Well, apart from European qualification.

This "Albion threw it" stuff is as small time as it gets. There is zero chance 11-14 professional footballers are going to throw a game to possibly cause problems for another club that the vast majority of them don't give a shit about.

How did they throw it last season? They won 4 games in total after November 2nd. They were just shit whoever they played.
Season before that they won 4 after Boxing Day, same again.

In any other situation I'd agree with you but this is Albion and normal rules don't apply.

No, WBA went for it and that was their problem. If WBA were still in the mire, they would have won that game. I bet heavily  on them to lose based on this.

This is where the random part of the league comes in: you can be playing a very different opposition team depending on when in the season you play them.

In this phase, QPR might as well go for broke, there is little to defend. They have the players to do it if things go their way.

We on the other do have something to defend in that if we maintain the status quo, we will survive.

On the balance of probabilities we will escape the drop, but the fact that we are still involved means some bad luck could still see us go down.
