What a difference a week makes
I text my mate Monday who supports the baggies to say don't expect to hear from me for a while. I was half expecting 2 draws but not to win both games. He hasn't got back to me.

Well in 40+ years of going to football I have never come across such complete and utter arseholes as the albion fans were. At Witton station myself and my 17 year old daughter got attacked by albion fans. Luckily my daughter stood her ground with her dad and we put a couple of the bastards down. Even some albion fans had a go at our attackers and said fair play for standing your ground. Think it is safe to say their fans are the biggest bunch of wankers I have ever come across..does it make you wankers feel good to give a 17 year old girl a bruised cheek. ..wankers total wankers.

You obviously do. So you don't care about the semi-final being played at Wembley, when it should be at a neutral ground? Odd, considering your initial post.
Far be it from me to intrude on this love-in but Wembley is a neutral ground.  But I'm with you, Villa Park & Elland Road or Hillsborough or Old Trafford.  Just like in days of yore.

It is, but that is not my point. Old Trafford, VP etc etc should be the semi-final venues.
Why?

It doesn't really matter.

If it were at Old Trafford fewer Villa fans would be going to the semi-final. Why would that be a good thing?

Because the subsequent trip to Wembley in the final would have much more meaning. You can't deny that playing the semi finals at Wembley devalues getting there.
Wembley is a fairly big, loud, empty stadium. It's a football match, played on a football pitch.

I'm pretty sure that everyone who goes to the semi-final isn't going to be complaining about going there instead of Old Trafford. And I bet that the 8,000 or so who get to go who wouldn't have gone had it been at any other ground will be delighted that it is being held at Wembey.

Sorry to hear that mate and hope she's ok.
I pin much of the blame here on whatever idiots thought 530pm was a good idea

What's this talk of Leeds? Don't remember sf s there
1980 replay (West Ham / Everton) - first one I remember.  Then 1995 (Everton / Spurs).
Hardly a bastion of semis then
I don't believe anyone called it a bastion of semis.  I just named it as a place where some had been held.

I went a bit mad at the first goal, second goal and especially at the end.
3 minutes later one of my next door neighbours yelled over the back fence wanting to know what the celebration was!
And so, it's a well done Aston Villa from the international students next door.

I'm so happy! :)

Marvelous:

I never get tired of watching Villa fans celebrate a goal in an important match. That was me on Tuesday. Lovely.

Great vid

ITV News just reported pitch invasion like we'd annexed North Wales.  Perspective for the final whistle, bans for the 100 odd fools in injury time, & crucifixion for the 2 fuckwits swinging off the crossbar.

Bloody hell, mate, glad to hear you're both okay. Fair play to you, your daughter and the Albion fans that came to your support. I imagine tonight, tomorrow and maybe for the next months or so you'll still be raging but one day you'll look back and remember how "we put a couple of the bastards down". Maybe it's worth saving for the Father of the Bride speech in the not too distant further.

There's a lot of sad, evil bastards out there but the worst are the fucking cowards. Hope it doesn't put either of you off going to games.

What a difference a week makes

What a difference a tweak makes.

Lambert's team, Lambert's tactics, just speeded up and dusted with confidence. And to think how long we had to suffer watching him cluelessly get it wrong and try exactly the same thing the following week.

Absolutely, as Brian Clough used to say it's a simple game really
