Mascot Cam:

What am amazing experience, I'm glad he had a good look around, took it all in and seemed to spend an age looking at the Holte. It also must be quite intimidating as a little nipper with all those adults shouting and pointing at you.

Wow!

Wish I was seven.

Wow indeed, spine tingling. Lovely how the little lad has all his relatives there, how fantastic is that! I felt for a couple of the older teenage girls who looked very self-conscious in the Villa kit, reminded me of my two at that age

If I hear crowd trouble again.

The crowd trouble came from the away fans throwing seats.

ffs

And a few of ours chucking stuff from the Lower North into the Witton Lane.

Had a chat with one of their lot this morning, he's a long time season ticket holder and a pretty level headed type of bloke so not one to get carried away, and he said there was a fair bit of stuff being thrown at them from the Lower North. The press has blown the pitch invasion out of all proportion but let us not pretend that we don't have our own share of dickheads.

Was on the train back to Stourbridge at around half nine Saturday night and there was 'banter' between fans that was generally good natured. I think it was after Rowley that the Villa contingent started singing that yam yam song to the tune of dambusters, to which the Albion fans at the other end of the carriage quite rightly pointed out - "Where's this train going, lads?"

Handshakes as the stripeys got off at Cradley. There were quite a few people on the train that were intimidated by it though and looked like they were expecting it to kick off.

I might be wrong, but I have always got the impression that the Black Country Albion fans don't have the same hatred towards us as the ones who come from the environs of Birmingham.  Their hatred of us is just as deep as that of the noses, who they seem to have been doing a good impression of over the past few seasons.

Just listed to 606 podcast from Saturday. Nice to here Savage defending the full pitch invasion. And to hear Delph clear up the biting comment saying it was a bit of rough kissing from fans. Wanker media writing any shit about him being biten to the extent a colleague showed me an article from Is real saying something like 'Aston Villa hooligans bite captain in riot'. What utter shit
While I was waiting for the other half to collect her lotto winnings yesterday I ventured over to the shitty newspaper section of Morrison's and had a quick look at the sports sections...one sub-heading stated "MacManaman struck by Villa fan" or similar...about 3 paragraphs in the article quotes Pulis as saying none of the players were hit.
The same report totally contradicting itself, attracting the sensation-seeking reader (or people with very short memory issues!) with a headline then providing evidence in the small print that it didn't actually happen!
Twats!

He's being a proper shit-stirrer about it on Facebook. Silly old sod.

Just watched the second half again on I player...I'd recommend it! I couldn't really enjoy it at the time, just felt we would find a way to throw it away. Much easier to enjoy it knowing the result.

A lot of people involved in the media these days are almost professional trolls - they say whatever will get the most interaction or comment. There was a massive media over-reaction but there was nothing else to talk about.

They also exhibit a lack of feel and understanding for the game they are covering.

Especially Lawro - lazy fupper

To be fair, I'd suggest (3) Villa fans running onto the pitch to goad Myhill was also 'trouble'. And they weren't  away fans.

Well Aston Villa captain needs to be careful on what he says to the press.

All this media storm about the crowd. Pulis and his team will be delighted that there performances are escaping attention.

If anyone mentions football violence to me again, I'm going to punch them in the face.

It's striking me that there's now two FA Cups. There's the lovely, magic-of-the FA Cup, where plumbers and plasterers can dream of playing at Old Trafford and little children run on the pitch to meet their idols, then there's the real FA Cup when you've only got big clubs left and it becomes a proper tournament watched by proper fans.

I think you're right. I'm trying to find an article I glimpsed from after the fourth round weekend where the writer was desperate for Liverpool/Arsenal/Man U final to restore the competition's credibility. Think it was from a proper paper too, not just some numpty with a blog.

Had to travel to Galway today for a hospital appointment.  Listening to the radio today they had some prick on saying how everyone is wanting a Liverpool/Man U/ Arse type final; as 'lesser' clubs would make for a less interesting final.  My blood pressure went through the roof.  Started reading the match report in the Irish Times (creditable broadsheet) and there was not one mention of a game of football that had taken place, it was all about the 21st century D-Day!  with respect to veterans.  TBF, I think the article was taken from a piece in the Guardian.  Even Mrs S could understand my wrath.
