Mostly agree but the line about Newcastle fans needing to 'get over it' is fanciful thinking.  Football fans have very long memories, especially for perceived injustices.  You can bet your bottom dollar that if someone gloats over our demise (if it comes to that) we won't be forgetting it in a hurry.  Especially if it's Newcastle.  It all adds spice to things anyway.

I think it's the misrepresentation. Most Villa fans had a chuckle and sung 'We'll meet again'. Oh and asked Shearer for a wave.
And the banners.

I saw a'villa fan' smack a Newcastle supporter, who was clearly disconsolate,
in the face after that game. I daresay that particular Geordie  will be more than happy to see our demise.

Let's be honest we took the piss big time so it's hardly surprising some of them feel a bit aggrieved. I remember standing outside the Vine, pint in hand waving off every single one of their coaches with about 200-300 others it was absolutely hilarious.

I said at the time to a couple if Geordie supporting mates they'd get a chance for revenge and I'm sure it will occur at some point.

I haven't forgiven West Brom for sending us down in 1959

They had a go when McLeish was in charge as well.

Coventry fans still havent got over our part in relegating them in 2001, I have a number of mates who are Cov fans and decent blokes but they are incredibly bitter about Villa
