I suspect with proper management we'll see some outstanding players from Ayew, Amavi, Veretout, Adama and who knows possibly Ilori.

Ayew after finding his feet looks like he will be a threat in his preferred position too, seeing him disconsolate after losing put me even more behind him, the more players we get that hate losing the better. Amavi, is a decent fullback, once he irons out his defensive flaws he will become a brilliant fullback. Gueye, is up to speed already and with a midfield with better shape he will look better himself. Veretout, the French said he would take the longest to settle, probably a full year before we see the best of him but stick with him.

Traore I think is a genuine long term project. Very, very raw but with the attributes to be top class.

I agree with you RM. Veretout's has always looked an excellent investment. I first set eyes on him at the pre season at Forest and I have not seen a Villa midfield player pick out a pass like he did for Sinclair's second goal for a very long time.

He played a pass inside the full back against the rags that was absolutely sublime, and the way he's turned and played a pass on a few occaisions has made me sit up.
I think there's definitely a player in there, he just needs time and games, and he should have more by now.

The more you look at the players we have the more I think Tim was a cock. There is the nucleus of a very decent team there that with a modicum of coaching would be no where near the bottom of the league.even Kozak and the seemingly mobile Ayew may not be world beaters but would offer more options than gestede at present

I remember that pass, it was marvellous.

He's a kid who has moved to a new league, to a struggling side and hasn't really had the playing time to settle in yet.

If for no other reasons than financial ones you have to bring out the best in the players you have bought.  Sherwood deserved to be sacked for any number of reasons but effectively to have wiped millions off the resale value of your assets by dissing them would get you instant dismissal in any normal line of business. Ratner describing his stock as crap springs to mind.

yes the ultimate marketing suicide bid. Our stuff is shit. On the other hand, my favourite tag line of all time is for a home furnishing company in the east midlands who promote themselves with the promise  'Sofa King Good'!

I am coming to the view that Spurs fans were right (annoying) and that Lerner & Fox actually made a good move by making sure Sherwood was not in charge of recruitment (assuming thats true). We bought some good players this summer, I am genuinely excited to see what a new manager can get out of them.

He's about to be appointed of an as yet unnamed La Liga side apparently. Now that would be funny.

Jesus!! Surely not?!!! Of all the British managers who would be the least equipped to manage abroad?
