He needed not to lose today to restore some confidence. Last week was unforgivable and i do not understand his determination to take off our most effective player Gill, last season he would not even play him.
Something not quite right with our manager.

He's only been in the bloody job 5 minutes. You were all jizzing over him last season when we beat them twice...

Birmingham must breed the most miserable people in the UK. Plenty of beautiful women there....feel sorry for your wives.

Not an excuse though is it. If he thinks a he's good enough to be at this level then he needs to prove that. Somehow Ranieri has walked into Leicester and made the job look a piece of piss. Even Pardew at Palace relative to their resources. Look at how we'll Monk has done. Even the bloke Flores at Watford.

Totally agree Canada.

Tuscans what have you seen so far that proves otherwise?
What have I seen....I've seen 30 years of football to say give managers a chance. Moyes at Everton, Ferguson at Utd, O'Neil at Leicester....just 3 that spring to mind, all young and upcoming who went through shit and come back better for it.

I'm saying the back 4 is relatively brand new, the majority of players are young, inexperienced of the game here, learning the language and settling. I think it will take one game, maybe Tuesday nights to kick start a season. Its just way too early to start making knee jerk reactions.

So nothing specific about sherwood's abilities at all, then? Great, let's just hope he somehow turns into the next ferguson.

Also, I'd quit the abuse of other posters if you want to remain posting on here.
Very clicky this place.

Right Tim this isn't all your fault, but I am so fucking bored of watching Villa being shit week in, week out for the last 5 or 6 years. You need to learn very quickly that the team you're putting out isn't working. Have some fucking humility and realise your plan is not working.

Looking like another awful managerial appointment and I was firmly in the "Sherwood in" camp

No it isn't, we just don't tolerate  insults. We'd be saying the exact same thing if someone was saying the same things to you.

Today, Gil was the only one who looked even remotely like he could create something.

That ended when he took him off.

but it's just such a shit job because you can't please Villa fans.

What on earth does that even mean?

How many sets of fans do you think would be reacting any differently to the years and years of dog shit we've been served up? We've won 20 home league games in four years. In four years plus the six games of this season, in fact.

You can please Villa fans - by winning matches.

It is also not just about results, it is about the way he's gone about getting some of them, tactical cluelessness like last week, for example.
But why can't he be given a chance after only 6 games?

Why are you totally avoiding the question?
It's more than 6 games, he's been manager since February.
February, March, April, May.......August and September. That's long enough for you? Could do a Leeds and change every week.

How many times does a manager need to make the same mistakes before you're allowed to point it out or criticise him for it? And how many times before you're allowed to worry that he's not actually learning anything?

There are at least three basic things that Sherwood can do which would improve us immediately, and this is coming from someone who is completely shit at football:

1) The main lumping the ball forward tactic is useless. Gestede can't compete in the air for some reason and we've had a team of scrawny, sub-six footers since Benteke left. Why not focus on supporting the most naturally talented players we have by playing it to their feet?

2) Westwood to be removed from any set pieces. In fact, Westwood to be removed, full stop.

3) Stop the unnecessary loyalty to 'name' players. Richards plays where you tell him to play, not where he wants to. Agbonlahor is allowed to sit games out. Be a bastard, not one of the lads.

What? You mean that time you asked for advice on how to get your red mate in the Villa end and a few people pulled you up on it. I thought people on here were admirably restrained and nobody gave you abuse

give hime another six games. Even if it doesn't work out this season, it has been one hell of a success. When Lambert was in charge, the only place we were going was down. Timmy's pumped up adrenalin rescued us and we should be forever indebted to him for that. He saved us! I thank him for that! Let's give him another half a dozen or so games. If it doesn't look good, Moyes please..

Oh know, I got abuse. But me doing that for a friend was for personal reasons between me and him, there are bigger things than football, no matter who he supports.

And no, I wasn't on about that.

He hasn't won a game yet this season.
