As someone said on another thread, the key now is who gets brought in as his backroom staff.
this is the critical factor; the more so with Ramsey unavailable.

I think the reaction is harsh! We all wanted Lambert out we needed a man in quickly and there isn't a great deal out there

He is driven determined and he bring confidence to the team

I think it's about time the fans got behind the team now and stopped moaning

Up the villa

AGREED

He's not somebody I'd have particularly wanted, but we don't have much of the season remaining, we needed to get somebody in ASAP

We all know that they left it far too late to get rid of Lambert, which has limited our options for a replacement, but we've got someone now and its up to us to give manager and players the fantastic support Villa fans are capable of.

I think this is my worst moment as a Villa fan. I mean Mcleish was bad but I didn't hate him personally... I can't stand Sherwood, hate him with a passion.

If he can get us through these 13 games and keep us up he will have a huge amount of good will to build on. Good luck to him.

After the lift of Lambert going, this just feels so uninspiring.

Congratulations, you fucking idiots, you've added another embarrassing entry to your list of shit appointments.

We really have given up.

I never believed our stock was so low. It's really difficult to face it. Are we really THAT shit?

OK.  Wouldn't have been my first choice but far from last either. It's not an obvious blunder of McLeish style proportions. And we all wanted Lambert, so we're not exactly faultless at this lark.

It's done now, so let's do what we always do, get behind him and hope he turns out to be an inspired choice.

I honestly think he'll get this team firing. These players have had it too easy for too long, being protected by a very generous manager. Sherwood ain't that guy, stick it to this bunch and get them performing at an appropriate level.

I don't mind the appointment at all. Best of luck Tim.

Uninspiring would be great compared to how I feel.

It's a huge gamble. I didn't want him, but it's done now. Keep us up and you'll be alright, Tim!

If this website is representative of our fans unlikely there'll be a big crowd against stoke and maximum support to get us put of our predicament.  This in itself is worrying
