There won't be booing from the off - it didn't really happen with McLeish so I can't see it happening here.

I might not want or rate him but I'd never boo him, unless he achieves the impossible and makes us worse.

I think he will be brash, loud and direct, JG2, and he will do well for us.   Not CL by a long chalk but certainly not permanently in the shit house.

Seen a few of his press conferences in you tube and he's extremely honest and passionate. We are desperate for a bloke whose infectious that can that squad believe in themselves. With the right staff around him this could be a tremendous appointment, i truly believe that

In all honesty I couldn't give a Fuck what spurs fans say. I know 2 spurs fans who love him. we've had some big name managers who've upset players so its not exclusively Tim.

Were trying something different so let's go with it.

Going back a couple of pages but the last line sums it up absolutely entirely, without  meaning to talk for anyone I'm confident that Monty will share my opinion that the very last thing this appointment suggests is that we're trying something different.  We've gone for an out school 'passion and desire' British manager.  He might not be negative and dour like the last couple but the same limitations appear to be there.

A new direction would've been to go for a progressive coach with a heavy focus on technique, fitness and performance analysis.  The thing that always upset me most with Lambert was the "I don't believe in stats, results are what matter" nonsense, the whole point of stats is that if you focus on simple things where you can make minor changes that have a big effect, you can see this in plenty of other sports (and in football outside the UK).  I understand that this point in the season might not be the right time to make major changes but that focus on the small things can turn sides around very quickly if implemented properly.

I was reading an interview with a guy from the Welsh FA - where Sherwood is doing his Pro Licence. He was absolutely raving about him, his technical knowledge and vision. Interview was from last March, when he'd started the course. Found it quite interesting, a different viewpoint. Also mentioned his five years on coaching staff at Spurs; playing 4-3-3 with U21s.

I always felt, at Spurs, he expected the boot at any minute.

I get the feeling this could either be one of the best appointments ever or one of the worst, nothing in between.

Really? Could you post a link to this interview?
