Only if the match gets rearranged to be played in 1968.

It's all about audience numbers and TV will have more watching the selected matched than Bradford v Fulham.

Surely the BBC shouldn't really care about audience figures, I mean it's not like they can sell advertising off of it.

They really should be helping out the smaller clubs by putting them on the TV..

Is points of view still going?

"why oh why oh why ........."

BBC very much measured on TV figures as success, just like any other station.

And Villa v Leicester is going to help them with that ?

They brought 1800 at the most for a league game, they're not going to bring too much more for a 12:30 Sunday game that is on TV, even if the tickets are cheaper.

I dunno - it's at the stage of the competition where both teams / magagers should genuinely give a shit. I suspect a healthy 5k contingent and low 30's crowd in total

I could be wrong but it seems to me that while gates are down for cup matches now, away turnouts are as good as ever.

First off since I have not commented here yet I am really pleased with the draw, as DW said it is pretty much the perfect draw.  I feel more confident playing them at home than away, and its better than getting a lower league side as they would be more up for the game I would think.

Am a little surprised that it is on TV but I think part the reason is because there are a lack of stand out ties this round and as a midlands derby the tie does hold some interest. Why is it on at 12.30?  Don't the BEEB's sunday games normally kick off at 13.30?

Might try and get a ticket for this just to build a bit of a booking history should the impossible dream come true ;)  But am guessing than from Brighton it will be nearly impossible to get there for that time.

I'd have thought Leicester would bring several thousand to Villa Park for this?

No?

Not surprisingly Leicester have taken the full 6,500 - £15 in the Witton End and £20 in the Witton Lane Stand.

Who did we play in 96? I can only remember that sole destroying defeat to Liverpool in the semi.
That was a wretched Semi Final. We never turned up.

It didn't help that we'd won the League Cup final a week earlier and Gareth Southgate had got injured playing for England midweek.

Southgate played as well, didn't he? Even though he was plainly unfit and had his knee heavily strapped.

I think he came off injured but I'd have to check. Either way, a final and an international in the previous seven days is hardly good preparation for a semi.

He did come off-injured. Staunton replaced him.

Didn't Villa arrange a special from Aston to Wembley for the League Cup Final that ended up massively delayed or did I imagine that?
