Think Lambert sees the midfield trio as critical for controlling possession, so I guess with the players available, it had to be those three. Happy to see Bacuna start.  The forward line is disappointing though, really thought Jack deserved a start. Really need Gabby and Weimann to discover some form if we're to get goals today. UTV

Villa to save another attacker's career, Zaha. Gayle on as sub to score as usual?

Lambert obviously has no interest in what we, the fans, say.
That's pretty irrelevant, though. No manager should take selection advice from the fans.

No, absolutely. What I'm trying to say is that surely he can see that the fans are crying out for entertainment, for goals. Surely he can feel the sense of expectancy when Grealish comes on and runs at players? He's often spoken about how great Villa Park is when 'you get it going'. Yet Lambert seems to shy away from any sort of exciting flair play. He's not going to 'get it going' with Weimann, Cleverley and company running around like headless chickens.

After last week I decided to give this one a miss. I may have made the right choice. Crystal Palace have problems scoring so he picks Agbonlahor and the dreadful Weimann to make sure we dont!

Its demoralising.

Wecome to 2015.

But he thinks we're demolishing teams and just unlucky in from of goal (as opposed to being lucky to get near the goal)

Lambert on goalscoring

New day/week/year (delete as appropriate)
Same old (bull)shit.

Can't believe he isn't giving Robinson a chance either.

I had a free £10 bet so picked a palace player with good name but unlikely scorer - Mariappa 17-1 anytime.

If you can't go a little bit more attacking against Crystal Palace at home, then you never will.
