My heart says win, my head says my heart is crazy, I hate hate hate hate these bastards nearly as much as Small Heath, will take a defeat if we actually have a go at them, if not just give them the points cancel the game and save the misery.

I've always tried to defend nzogbia but his recent performances have been shocking and he has to be dropped for this one .

Oh for a manager with some balls and an aggressive approach to give these obnoxious bastards a beating ,but as other posts say we have Lambert.

Even if we do something we haven't done very often this season - like score a goal - they still have Falcao, Mata, Rooney, Van Persie and that diving bastard Ashley Young up front.  Our style of defensive play is going to be sorely stretched. If we win this game I will run naked through my street. Even last season when everyone else seemed to be getting points off them we rolled over like a lame pussycat who's been lured away by a lovely dish of milk. 0-3 and the decent run of two wins long long forgotten.

As I predicted Lambert played him against Albion. The guy offers absolutely nothing. Would love us to give these a game but they are flying at the moment and there is no way we will keep a clean sheet. 1-3

Since Carrick has returned for them they have been on this fantastic run. Really can't see anything but another game where we don't score and we concede 2 or 3.

If someone can remind lambert that a football pitch has two halves then we have a chance.
Unfortunately I doubt that will happen and we will lose thanks to a sloppy mistake from one of our full backsgiving the ball after receiving the ball from one of our new inventive backwards goalkicks

They are beatable their defence is all over the place but De Gea is playing out of his skin. They over play at the back so we need to keep pressure on them high up the pitch.

Would not be supervised if we go 3-5-2 to match them

Defensively they're terrible. You could drive a fleet of busses up through their middle, let alone one. Liverpool, Southampton and Arsenal want shooting for not battering them.

I fear the usual annual drubbing, especially with the injuries and suspensions. Slowly passing it out side to side from defence will play straight into their hands - they'll contain us in our own half and wallop us at will. I just wish for once Lambert would have a real go from the start and if we lose at least we go down fighting. 3-1 to them, with assorted local plastic reds getting ejected from the Holte End throughout the game

This is probably the game I most want to win every season, it happens so rarely though I can barely accept it as a possibility, especially after last season. It can be done though. UP THE VILLA!

I just about worked up the energy to put an entry in this thread in order to predict the same old shite.

I can only see an easy Utd victory in this. As good as our defence has been, it'll be interesting to see how we cope against genuine top quality. As unconvincing as Utd look, they've still got real class up front. Massive test for the Clark/Okore partnership.
