Doncaster seem to be one of our bogey teams, we've never beaten them at their own ground - even though that ground has changed fairly recently.

Doncaster <shudders>

We've only lost 4/19 at the Hawthorns since 10th November 1976 (ooh exactly a year before I was born)

Ayresome Park was a big bogey ground for us back in the day.

Seconded.

I don't know about that - Ayresome Park was always lucky for us. Well, you were lucky to get home in one piece.

To be fair Ayresome Park was a very lucky ground for us on 2nd May 1981.

Never remember us doing much at The Dell when Southampton played there.  Horrible ground

Darren summed up perfectly for me in April: "We played shit and Selhurst Park is a shit ground."

I have felt that way after about 99% of my visits to that hell hole.

Went there for a friday night game when we were in the 3rd division. Doncaster were near the bottom, they booed their manager when he came out.
Doncaster won 2-1, the manger was Lawrie McMenemy.

In fairness have we played at Doncaster that much in living memory?  I still struggle to call it a bogey ground if you only play there once in a blue moon, even if you do lose every time.

I think we won 2-1 the year we won the league and there was a 4-1 victory too under Gregory. St Mary's has generally been a good ground for us (touch wood)

I can recall us battering them 4-1 when we were top under Gregory.

I can equally remember a 4-1 tonking a few years before when Le Tissier scored a few. Neil Cox ended up in goal and we [well not me] got on the pitch at the end and broke the goals. They beat us on a week night 2-1 as well in the mid-90s.

As for Doncaster, I can (unfortunately) recall the 3-0 under O'Leary, but apart from that we have only played them once more in the past 20 odd years up there and that was a 0-0 at their new place.

On the flip side anyone remember how invincible we were at Highfield Road?  Right up until Kevin Drinkell scored.  Then we couldn't win for a few years.

When they first moved in it was like St Mary's was too good a ground they lost the edge they had at the Dell.  Now they have adjusted and its a tough place to go for many, but we seem to do fairly well there overall.

What a perfect analysis. Been there 3 times versus palace, and twice versus dons, no wins and long bloody journeys home.

I've been there many times and seen us come a cropper against Palace, CHarlton and Wimbledon, but for me that ground will forever be associated with the abject 3-0 defeat against CHarlton on the way to relegation in 1987. Utter misery.
