Excellent result. We defended really well, although I wish we'd try and attack a bit more.

I don't think we had much choice, mate.

Quite agree. Generally speaking, you do what you can when you're playing at Anfield, and we did what we could damn well.

I'm on leave the next 2 Mondays. Hopefully it'll mean 2 missed bragging opportunities.

Did I see correctly. Did StevieG scuff the white paint out that the ref had just sprayed and put the ball a couple of feet to the left of where it should have been? This was at a free kick just outside the left hand side of our penalty area.

He did.  He's always been a cheating twat.  Lambert has had someone do a job on him at anfield 2 seasons in a row, don't know why everyone doesn't do it.

Our back 4 was immense today.  I've slagged Baker to a huge degree but he put in a proper centre halves' performance today.  Won everything in the air, even if you never know which direction the ball will go after it's made contact with his head.

With Benteke to come back, Grealish to start getting more game time and the team to generally start to gel the solid defence is a great platform to build from.  We could really be looking at comfortable mid-table here!  It's also nice to have options from the bench.

Song of the Baker by the Small Faces is the new orange dot.Thank me later.

Plus it is a great song by The Greatest Band Ever (as they should be known). Thanks.

Actually, a song by a band whose other material was covered by The Greatest Band Ever.

We'll have to agree to disagree, but I'm right. The Small Faces are so far ahead of the competition that the second Greatest Band Ever is probably their tribute act.

The Small Faces had no impact on The Greatest Football Club Ever.
I demand a intetnet poll to see if we should be running out to it at home.

Seconded.

I love us playing in all white. Today's backs to the wall performance reminded me of Rotterdam !

Absolutely. Always been my favourite away strip by miles because of its associations to that period in our history. Thought it looked really smart today. Why, however, we have a player turning out in black boots beats me, disgraceful

Made me laugh when the Olbiun went on about their pinstripes  -  pointed out what we had won wearing them ;-)

I was  watching in a bar in Warsaw, some pissed guy behind me said I hate Spurs even more than Liverpool, I'm off home.

I normally get upset about possession percentage figures, but on this occasion I'm not,
because Liverpool did very little with the massive 75% they had, in fact overall we still made more proper chances especially in the first half,
a lot of that 75% was spent passing it around in there own half with no where to go

Yep, I agree. The most important statistic today is that we had 100% of the goals.

Another pleasant surprise.  Keeping calm though, we've had promising results before.

Jamie Redknapp actually managed some good punditry after the match.  Showed Gabby not closing down the ball when their centre backs had possesion so he could stay close to Stevie GBH and Delph sitting deep and cutting out their passing options.  Not pretty but you have to be ugly when playing against a more talented team.  Lambert and the rest of the coaching team have to take credit for that.

EDIT:  My point is we as fans are screaming for the players to chase every ball but when you look back and think about it it's not always the best thing to do.

Yeah, I don't mind when we win, but I would've liked to see us try and get another goal today.
