I never really understood the hype surrounding Tom Ince even when he was average. Seeing him today in 'action' said it all really.

I didn't even realise he was on  the pitch until he got subbed.

No I didnt either. I didnt notice Ron Vlaar in the first half Senderous appeared to be taking charge of everything. That is called accepting responsilbility. A very good sign.

Indeed. We've needed more players that will take the bull by the horns rather than take the easy options all the time. It comes when you sign players who by and large have played at the top end and in big games.

A great feeling going into the inevitable useless international fannying around break. Well played lads. Gabby looked as good as I've seen him for 4 years and Weimann knocking in the goals is something I always love to see, really hope this form continues. Being realistic, 3-5 points from the next 5 games would do me just fine.

We played like the home team. Feels like years since I've seen that.
are some of us forgetting Sunderland 6-2?

If Downing had been on the receiving end of just one if those tackles Jack Grealish got he would have been stretchered off and been out for a couple of months.  What Clattenberg allowed to happen over not one but a clearly orchestrated series of heavy fouls on a young, special player is one of the factors why promising young superstars of the future fall by the wayside. They get targeted and they get no protection.

Totally agree with these comments. Bruce should be ashamed of his players doing this to a young lad who'd only just come on. I'm sure he would have had plenty to say if it had been one of his team being targetted.

I'm sure that the Villa players would have kicked Tom Ince if they'd realised that he was on the pitch.

Excellent first half , should have been 4

Back to typical villa second half , it seemed Lambert was happy with a 2 0 which is always dangerous instead of going for the jugular and getting that third especially with the break now

But 7 points after three games is very good , that stoke  game being a massive bonus

Great first touch from weimann and coolly taken goal. Gabby's finish was top drawer.

Not sure what more Clattenburg xould do to be honest. Each foul on grealish that deserved a caution got it. he can't call the captainb over or tell Bruce to ask his players to stop. At least Grealish knows he's seen as a threat to prem teams. And it gave him the opportunity to hear his name being sung by the whole ground. Pain is transitory and I'll bet at that point he couldn't feel even the slightest scratch.

Good performance, good finishing and mostly good defending. A very satisfying performance and result.

Yep, slowed the game up and broke up Hull's momentum.

...and then Jack broke free to relieve the 'pressure' and passed it straight to one of their players and put us back under pressure. Enjoy the limelight but keep working hard young 'un.

Yep, slowed the game up and broke up Hull's momentum.

Kind of annoying when 5 minutes injury time came up though, mostly through the delays after Hull had fouled Grealish again and again.

He did exactly that after the third assault. Individually, possibly none deserved  a red, but cynicism should be taken into account. If we allow cloggers to just target any player with a bit of talent, we'll never develop enough players of that ilk.

Could Grealish have been injured? Were each of the 4 tackles deliberate? I don't think Bruce could have moaned had they ended the match with 10 men.
