This thread like many other similar ones is like watching Sky News all day. Repetition is the order of the day. There is no point in sticking more pins  into this dead body at the moment!

I haven't been on H&V for a while and I'm sure you are all as concerned as me about our prospects of another season of relegation dodging.

Sorry if you've covered my concerns in other threads but I just wanted to hear some other thoughts.

It seems to me that Keane is now our manager-in-waiting and Lambert has been told by Lerner to play the players who we're paying big wages, and the 'young and hungry' policy has been well and truly binned.

Given is now 'back in the fold' and is going to be at least our sub keeper after Steer has been loaned out. Why? He's a poor 'keeper.
Lowton, who looked a quality player the season before, is now going to be loaned out and replaced with Hutton because he's dared to answer back to Lambert apparently.
Lambert's success in spotting left backs is highlighted by the binning of Luna, Bennett, the letting go of Bertrand and also Stephens (I know he didn't sign him) to be replaced with the relegation-hardened Richardson.
Senderos is going to be Vllar's replacement? Jesus I hope not. Three centre backs this season with Bacuna and Richardson as wing backs? But what's the sense of loaning out the back up full backs when we have an injury or two?
Sylla gone and Helenius and Tonev? Even less depth in the squad..great work Mr. Lambert. Everyone could see they were out of their depth though.
Joe Cole our creative hub? Agbonlahor still going to play his four games a season? Weimann to play his usual 3 minutes a match?
Benteke not fit until October, so Bent up front?
Kozak won't be fit for a while yet, but when he is he will continue his great impersination of Tony Cascarino and has the turning circle of a HGV.
And the return of Charles N'Zogbia after his 'mystery' injury?

I for one am not looking forward to the next few months, I'm pretty certain with the squad we've got we'll be in the bottom three.

What does everyone else think about our chances this season?

What is Lambert's football? I still don't know. He barely seems to have a preferred formation. There's no discernible style.

I've never looked to a new season with lower expectations than I have at the moment. If any other club had the owner, manager and players that we have, I'd have them down as certainties for relegation.
