Excellent goal, 2-1 Villa, Gardner. Really nice build up with Bent and Weimann.

I hope Gardner has better luck with injuries this season, would like to see him get a go.

Great play. Nice goal. Benty involved in the build up (shock horror) and a nice assist by Weimann for Gary Gardner. Nice finish, poked in the bottom corner.

Baker looking like he wasn't entirely sure where he was or what was going on, there.

I know it's a friendly and it's only Mansfield etc etc, but we've played some nice stuff tonight

Surprised. That's a first for him.

Karim's been very good today. I think he's looked sharper and fitter than anyone. Perhaps being teetotal has helped him there. He looks a lot better playing forward and being more of a playmaker. Whether he can do that against Prem opposition regularly is another matter though.

What are the odds on us conceding a late goal

We looked a bit confused early 2nd half with this system, but they've warmed into it and it looks quite good. Might be worth looking at against better opposition. Maybe a half against Parma.

Not as good as us scoring one.
