Does this include the women's football or does it have its own thread?

This is the first Women's match I've seen. Some players look decent, but some seem like they can't kick a ball properly.

Seems like the women are about as good as the men though (not very).

England's women are almost entirely lacking in flair and the ability to pass a ball to each other.
Maybe it's genetic?

The Mexican women's coach has changed a bit since his playing days.

I remember him like this from my Argentina 78 sticker book.

He now looks like this.

2-0 to Denmark. Jakob Poulsen

How a team that's got Ivanovic, Kolarov and Nastasic in the back 4 and Matic in midfield can look so crap as the Serbs is quite puzzling, until you remember the England tems of the last 10-15 years and beyond.

That first picture could be our Cuellar in a 70's afro.

Only just seen, the Faroe Islands are up to the heady heights of 4th in their group, 2 points clear of Iceland and 4 points clear of Greece!

Serbia are joint bottom of their group below Portugal, Denmark and Albania, level with Armenia on 1 point!

Men/Women...Jonathan Pearce is equally adaptable at being a shit commentator for both.

He states how England left it open from their corner, during highlights that showed England had more players back than Mexico had forward. Lazy commentating.

And the Eurovision Jury from Greece - Faroe Islands  6 points

And well played. We got a new star - a bit of a Grealish type - Brandur Olsen

He is the player building up the attack and scores http://gfycat.com/UnevenDamagedAsiaticmouflon

I watched the England women's match too.  I reckon I catch one of their games on the telly every couple of years, and once again the thing that strikes me is how patronising the coverage is.  It's all so apologetic and conditional.  There was a moment in the first half where an England player had an extraordinarily feeble shot at goal, one of those scuffed and trundling efforts so lacking in venom that it could have come from the boot of a sick Charles Hawtrey, a strike so weak the goalie could not only have thrown her hat on it but nipped home to get her hat to make that possible.  It was a waste of a great chance, as anyone who has ever watched any football could see.  Not according to that shrieking guffmonger Jonathan Pearce, who tried to tell me it was a "fine effort" that had "made the keeper work".  It's always bothered me this, it's like the commentators are scared to criticise in case they're seen as being sexist, which is just idiotic.  A striker shanking a one-on-one out for a throw-in is a shite finish in any game, regardless of their genitals.

Well I can't say beware of Greeks bearing gifts as they have been generous twice now  but that could be unfair to your own effort. Well done to Faroesians or is it Faroeish?
