Having seen Leicester, QPR, Burnleh and ourselves recently, they look far more likely to eek out 3-4 wins between now and the end of the season than we do. Even that prob won't be enough for Leciester, but they look like they'll go down with a fight.

We had a chance to go for it yesterday, against an injury-hit side who didn't have much to play for. And we offered nothing.

Even Sunderland, who look brutal at present, have enough there to pinch games if Defoe sees enough of the ball.

In contrast, our main (only) goalscoring threat is playing like some sort of rancid Heskey-Penrice hybrid at the moment. Maybe that long-term injury has done more damage than we thought. Or perhaps his agent has made it clear to him that it wouldn't be a complete disaster if we went down. The price would drop, for a start.

Vlaar looks and plays like he has one eye on the exit door, and I'm sure Delph's new contract contains sufficient clauses to ensure he won't have to stick around in the Championshp to help us rebuild.

We are not playing like a side straining every sinew to stay in the topflight, put it that way.

Referee just shat out of giving a penalty to Southampton and a red card to the Liverpool defender.  Coutinho scores an absolute screamer then Southampton immediately denied another penalty.

How were we fortunate to beat Leicester? They were quite easily the poorest side to play at Villa Park and we have been playing there all season.

Given made two good saves and Schwarzer threw one in for us. Not much between us in my view as was the case in November

Kevin Friend is bottling every single decision in this match, it's infuriating

Given made one save and fumbled a cross. We dominated them second half and deserved the win. In November, Schmiechael kept it reasonable.

There is some odd thinking going on. We're in a terrible run and we need to that around, but this over valuing of how good other sides are is bizarre. Sunderland are in a bad way but "probably have enough", while Leicester, comfortably the poorest team in the league have more about them.

Ok.

Sturbridge is such a good player, naturally from his goalscoring ability, but also his movement getting others involved.

You are flirting with a punfest TV, giving players names that are (almost) places.

Pity there isn't a place called Stirling.

That was the worst refereeing performance I have seen in a long time. He is very lucky Matic, Barnes and Martin Atkinson have stolen all the headlines this weekend. I thought a few big decisions went against Southampton. Some borderline, some clear cut to me.

No he couldn't have? I heard Rodgers  say "Kev did very well in difficult circumstances"! Yes he did call him Kev.
