I have no confidence in beating Man U because as dire as they were last season we found a way to be much, much worse. I'm sure by the time we play them they'll have turned it around and we'll concede a late lead and lose on stoppage time or something equally miserable.

I watched the game in the kitchen because my wife and daughter were watching one of those programmes about brides and there wasn't much else on that I fancied watching. Great fun. Especially as I really do not fancy them for the PL or CL. Good luck to them in the FA cup. They may well find that like Liverpool, once the aura/myth/whatever has died it is very hard to get it back.

I was going to post something equally pessimistic earlier......oh well, you live in hope!

The fact that Celtic, who shouldn't have been in it anyway, got knocked out had bypassed me until this morning. Good show.

Talking of Robbie Savage, this, the other day in the Torygraph, was excellent:

Brilliant quite brilliant.  I have to say this is nearly quite up there with the WSC demolition of Tim Fucking Lovejoy. Absolutely superb.

That's pretty damning, don't think he likes him, nor do I so well done

I think the most salient point is not to get irritated or upset by him. However, taking notice of him is unavoidable.

Regarding Man ure, I did say to my mate last night that they need to play us for a confidence, It's sad how I've become so pessimistic about this fixture

We will gut them like a fish. Van Gaal's face will go the colour of a half-sucked gobstopper

Was talking to a united fan I work with this morning and blames Ferguson totally for their problems. He said it was his short termism and selfish desperation to get one over on city and win the title in his last year that's put them where they are now.

Completely ignoring the long 'termism' that brought them unprecedented success for 20 years.

Yeah, fancy wanting to win the league the selfish bastard. He should drive down to London and say sorry to each one of them personally.

Much as I'd like to blame that horrible git I don't really get this. How exactly did winning the title mess them up?

One at work blames Whiskey Nose as well. Hanging on to aging players that he would normally have moved on was his argument.
